The Book of Dogecoin tells the story of how software engineers created the cryptocurrency MEME token in 2013 to poke fun at Bitcoin. They deliberately misspelled the word “DOGE” to describe a Shiba Inu dog. They raised awareness in 2014 by sponsoring the Jamaican Bobsleigh team and Nascar drivers. In early 2021 Dogecoin gained a cult status on Reddits WallStreetBets message board where enthusiasts promised to propel its value “to the moon”! In May of 2021 Dogecoin reached an ATH after Elon Musk said Dogecoin was his favorite cryptocurrency. Elon used the Dogecoin logo as the new Twitter logo when he bought the company and turned it into X. Since then Dogecoin has been in the top ten of all cryptocurrencies.
