🇮🇶🇺🇸🇺🇸⚡️ Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi received U.S. Central Command Commander General Charles Brad Cooper on Wednesday.

➡️ During the meeting, Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi reaffirmed his commitment to the agreed timelines, which stipulate that September 30 will be a firm and final deadline for ending the military mission of the International Coalition in Iraq and completing the withdrawal of its forces.

➡️ The Iraqi prime minister stated that October 1 will mark a new day in the course of the Iraqi state, as Iraq will be free of any foreign military presence, having fully restored its national sovereignty over its territory and continued to build its security and military capabilities in a manner that enables it to protect its own security and stability.

➡️ In this context, the prime minister called for adherence to the principles of the Constitution and the foundations upon which the state is built, the preservation of its national interests, and the channeling of the energies of the Iraqi people toward reconstruction, development, and economic growth. He stressed that Iraq today needs the efforts of all its citizens to build a strong economy, a stable state, and a better future for coming generations.

➡️ He stressed that placing all weapons under state control, in accordance with the law, protects everyone, strengthens the authority and sovereignty of the state, guarantees security and stability, and represents a fundamental condition for moving Iraq into a new phase of development and prosperity.

➡️ Both sides affirmed their full and final agreement to end the military mission of the International Coalition, in accordance with the agreement reached during the Iraqi prime minister’s visit to Washington in mid-July. They stressed that Iraqi-American relations will transition toward cooperation and partnership in the economic, development, and security fields, based on mutual respect for the sovereignty and shared interests of both countries.
