At least two fires seen burning on NASA FIRMS in the city of Izyum, Kharkiv Oblast, following an overnight Russian Geran-2/4 drone attack.

Because the Ukrainian counteroffensive near Lyman has pushed the Russians significantly back from Izyum, Russia has turned to using longer-range drones, MLRS, and KAB glide-bombs to attack the city, rather than shorter-range MLRS, artillery, and FPV drones.

The eastern outskirts of Izyum used to be around 20 km from the frontline. Now it is around 47 km away.

An Iranian Air Force HESA "Kowsar" fighter jet is seen conducting a patrol over the city of Dezful, western Iran, this morning.

Earlier, it was reported that the Iranian Air Force has allowed the entry of approximately 6 new domestically-produced HESA "Kowsar" fighter jets, which had not yet been officially commissioned or passed all safety tests, in response to rising tensions and the high possibility of the renewal of the war with the U.S. and Israel.

These aircraft were likely part of the large group which conducted large-scale patrols near the western border with Iraq last night - which occurred at the same time as with a large-scale Israeli training mission over Iraq involving simulated launch maneuvers towards Iran.

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿช–โšก๏ธ โ€” Russia's naval presence in the Mediterranean has declined significantly, with no Russian warships operating in the region for roughly two months until early September, marking the first such absence since 2016, according to Breaking Defense, citing a NATO official.

The decline is attributed to Russia's loss of access to its naval base at Tartus in Syria, shortages of support vessels, Turkish restrictions on warship movements through the Black Sea straits, and the diversion of warships to escort Russian merchant vessels, including its shadow fleet.

Russian warships returned to the Mediterranean in September, and experts caution that Moscow retains the capability and strategic interest to maintain a naval presence there.
