Loud explosions are reported on the outskirts of Tehran

Reports that a power station was targeted in the Karaj area, west of Tehran.

The Israeli army radio announced the beginning of the strikes on Iran.

Official statement by the IDF:
"In response to months of continuous attacks from the regime in Iran against the State of Israel – right now the Israel Defense Forces is conducting precise strikes on military targets in Iran.

The regime in Iran and its proxies in the region have been relentlessly attacking Israel since October 7th – on seven fronts – including direct attacks from Iranian soil.

Like every other sovereign country in the world, the State of Israel has the right and the duty to respond.

Our defensive and offensive capabilities are fully mobilized.

We will do whatever necessary to defend the State of Israel and the people of Israel."

Iranian Media: "Most of the attacks in Tehran were confronted, the strikes were limited and not as large as the media intimidation and the entity’s threats. Some of the sounds of explosions in the vicinity of Tehran were caused by air defense missiles."

The second wave ended. It is reported that all targets were shot down.

Iranian Tasnim News Agency, citing "informed sources": "Israel will undoubtedly receive a proportionate response."

Meanwhile in the completely unreported-on West Bank, Israeli ground forces are conducting another raid into the city of Tulkarm. Heavy gunfire is heard.

Preliminary information states that Israeli-backed collaborators launched quadcopters from the suburbs of Tehran with the goal of activating medium and long-range air defences, revealing their locations.

However, only short-range anti-air autocannons were activated rather than medium to long range air defences. All of the quadcopters were reportedly shot down.

These interceptions may have been the cause for the initial explosions in western Tehran.

None of this information has been confirmed, however.

Unconfirmed reports state that one of the Israeli projectiles struck a site in eastern Tehran, likely the Khojir missile facility.
