Whatever happens to you, don't despair.
Even if all the doors are closed, there will be a secret path for you,
that no one knows.
You can't see it yet, but many paradises are at the end of this journey.
~ Rumi

Johannes Gehrts (1855-1921) was a German artist and probably one of the best known illustrators of Germanic mythology, folklore and people, from the Gods and legendary heroes like Sigurd to historical figures like Arminius. My own channel photo, which depicts Woden driving the sword into Barnstokkr from Volsunga Saga, is one of Gehrts' many illustrations.
