On March 26th 1971, Bangladesh declared its independence. It had to be defended by force, after Pakistan did not want to lose its eastern territories. Soon after India was drawn into the war in December, Pakistan capitulated. March 26th is the most important public holiday in Bangladesh, widely celebrated with parades, concerts, and various ceremonies.

▪️The Vijayanta is a variant of the British Vickers MBT Mk.1, used by Indian forces during the 1971 War. It differs from its predecessor in that it features side skirts and a HEATFS shell for the Royal Ordnance L7A1 105 mm rifled gun.

▪️The T-69 II G is an improved version of the T-69, designed specifically for the Bangladesh Army. It’s not the most mobile tank, but its reactive armor can protect it from HEAT shells, and its excellent 105 mm gun has access to a wide range of ammunition, including APFSDS rounds and high-explosive rounds with a proximity fuse.

▪️Sound Modifications have been temporarily disabled. We continue to actively develop the game’s audio, adding new features and improving sound quality. Due to these changes, some sound modifications have become incompatible with the current client version, leading to an increase in errors and crashes. To ensure a predictable and stable experience for all players, we’ve temporarily disabled support for sound modifications in War Thunder.
▪️We value the community and mod authors and intend to maintain the ability to create and use sound modifications as an important part of the game. We have a publicly available official sound project for modding, and we are already working on:

▪️A mechanism for evaluating the compatibility and functionality of sound modifications
▪️A separate guide for creating sound modifications for the current version and structure of the FMOD audio project: bank sets, routing, parameters/events, etc. This guide will help you improve the compatibility of your modifications with the game, making them more stable and less likely to impact game performance.

📜Pages of History (April): Operation Vulcan

In Pages of History this month, you will find yourself at the center of events that took place in various theaters of war. From Austria and Iraq, Tunisia and Cambodia: participate in battles while using vehicles linked to these historic battles and get some prizes!

🏪From April 1st until April 30th, you will be able to participate in 8 tasks consecutively. Completing each task will grant you a trophy with a reward, completing all of the tasks will earn you a unique profile background!

🎯Operation Vulcan was the penultimate operation in the entire North African theater of war. The United States, Great Britain, and France, working together, breached the defenses of Germany and Italy. They opened the road to the capital of Tunisia, and prepared the bridgehead for the final offensive that led to the surrender of the Axis forces in the region in May 1943.

🚤IJN Yamashiro Returns with a Discount for its Anniversary!

On March 31st 1917, the battleship Yamashiro was commissioned into the Imperial Japanese Navy, seeing action during the Second World War. During the Battle of Leyte Gulf on October 25th 1944, Yamashiro engaged a large American force in a night battle in the Surigao Strait and was sunk by torpedoes.
