It's astonishing how few understand the difference between a Republic and a Democracy - and the distinctions are rather impt.
For example, in a Democracy, the right to bear arms could be put to a vote in the next election. Enflamed by current events, and perhaps intentionally stoked by politicians looking to cash in on the moment. This system can be (and has been) used to radically alter society in a relatively short time span - which is what the far-left desires.
Thankfully that overly simple process isn't true here as our Forefathers blessed us with a Constitutional Federal Republic.
As such, our system is based on the rule of law (or at least we're supposed to be) as defined in the document. The left doesn't like this hurdle for the very reason it was embedded in our societal contract.
This is uber impt as this means the ONLY way to alter the interpretations of our rights is via a constitutional amendment - and that requires a formidable process of debate & consensus nationwide.
Again, this PURPOSEFULLY makes changes to it a much more difficult process and therefore helps shield our inherent (God-given) rights away from the whims of the majority.
BTW: If you're interested, the details as to how to amend the document are found in Article V.
There is more to it, of course, but this is a good way to help illustrate a key difference.
Good luck.

@DavidSacks
explains how the establishment uses hate speech as a red herring to mask their true intention of exerting political censorship and controlling the narrative:
"What the left has wanted to do since
@elonmusk
took over Twitter is to say that this is about allowing more hate on the platform, and that has never been the motivation for those of us who care about free speech... What is our main concern about censorship? It is political suppression. It's about narrative control.
It's not like we want more hate on the platform. We want a level playing field. We don't want the thought police at Twitter putting their thumb on the scale of American democracy and deciding who has a voice and who doesn't. That's what this is really about. The people who believe in censorship want to make you think that this is about allowing more hate, and it's not."
