🔸Nikolai Gogol

We continue our new rubric in which we tell you about Russian famous creators in art. And today it is Russian classical writers!
🔸Fyodor Dostoevsky
Arguably the most globally recognized Russian writer of all time, known everywhere. If not all his works, then at least the masterpieces of his «Five Great Novels» («The Brothers Karamazov», «Crime and Punishment», «The Idiot», «Demons», and «Notes from Underground») have been translated into all major languages and remain beloved by millions of readers.
🔸Leo Tolstoy
After Dostoevsky, perhaps the most famous Russian writer. Count Tolstoy was rich not only in wealth but also in his talent for writing — he proved this by creating the world-renowned novels «Anna Karenina» and «War and Peace».
🔸Nikolai Gogol
A founder of Russian and Ukrainian culture and folklore. Gogol stands above many national writers. His works capture the emotional and psychological state of the ordinary Russian person of his era. This is reflected nowhere better than in his novel «Dead Souls».
На русском

Here is the second part of RUSSIAN CREATORS about Russian classical writers.
🔸Nikolai Karamzin

Here is the second part of RUSSIAN CREATORS about Russian classical writers.
🔸Nikolai Karamzin
He was the "Pushkin before Pushkin". No one else influenced the development of the literary Russian language as he did, even if his contemporaries did not fully grasp it. A multifaceted genius, Karamzin was also a poet and historian!🔸Mikhail Bulgakov
A Soviet-era writer who brought a unique perspective and innovative style to literature. For his criticism of revolution he was persecuted and censored by the government. His uniqueness proves that Bulgakov was "ahead of his time". His most famous work, «The Master and Margarita», was written under strict censorship and remained unpublished during his lifetime.🔸Maxim Gorky
Is a nickname of famous writer Alexei Maximovich Peshkov. He chose his creative name due to hard childhood, which is described in his autobiographical book «Childhood». Notably, he, the author of numerous novels and plays, was the most published writer in the USSR.
На русском
Его уникальность лишь доказывает, что Булгаков был *club224966138 (*ahead) of his time* (опередил своё время).

🎨RUSSIAN CREATORS #5🎨
In the new part of the Russian Creators rubric, we will tell you about three outstanding Russian artists.
🔸Mikhail Vrubel
One of the most mysterious creators of Russian painting. He believed that nature was not just alive, but inhabited by spirits! His works reflect many mythological, mystical and biblical subjects. His famous «Demon Seated», «Demon Flying» and «Demon Defeated» symbolize the death of this world.
📌 You can see Mikhail Vrubel's paintings in the Russian Museum.
🔸Ilya Repin
A world-famous Russian artist. He is famous for being able to accurately convey the emotions of each character in his paintings. This is especially noticeable in such works as «They Didn't Expect Him», «The Zaporozhian Cossacks Write a Letter to the Turkish Sultan» and «October 17, 1905». Moreover, Repin was a terrible perfectionist, and constantly tried to bring his paintings to perfection, even when they were at exhibitions!
📌 You can see Ilya Repin's paintings in the Russian Museum and the Penaty Estate Museum.
🔸Kazimir Malevich
A legendary Soviet avant-garde artist of Polish origin. Famous for his «Black Square», he became a symbol of an era in the history of art. His works are a real performance! This is a protest against the established traditions of painting. The reason for this was the advent of photography, which means, according to the philosophy of the avant-garde, there is no point in a photorealistic depiction of the world. The idea of Malevich's paintings is the primacy of geometric forms.
📌 You can see Kazimir Malevich's paintings in the Russian Museum, and the Hermitage has one of the copies of the «Black Square».
🔳«Avant-garde» is our tutor's project. Together with a small team, he is developing a video game that reveals the philosophy of Russian painters. They also run a VK community where they tell interesting, unusual and mystical facts from the biographies of artists and their paintings. If you are interested in Russian art, we would be grateful for your support!
