There is a lot of anti-puritan sentiment in the wider DR but I believe fundamentally this comes from Moldbug and his ilk who hate them for being great. They had their issues but they did a lot of things right. I recommend anyone in the DR read this book: Worldly Saints: The Puritans as They Really Were by Leyland Ryken to get more of a deeper understanding of these peoples from the peoples themselves instead of some atheists and Jews in the 21st century.

AA takes a lot of flak for his reply style, but his way is the correct way. You should be able to fully articulate your points, on your own, with no ambiguity. The need for a debate or conversation is a crutch for being insufficiently articulate. The practice of AA's style is important practice for the real world.
