The coming of Spring; the perfect time for new beginnings...
This my first attempt at calligraphy, I wasn't quite sure on the proper protocol for leaning this, but I thought repetition couldn't be a bad way to go.
I didn't chose the best paper since the ink bled a little and my pen was slightly awkward as it's an old one I was recently given, but better to make an imperfect start than not start all. Hopefully I will be able to refine things as I go. This one is Uncial Script.
The idea is to at some point be able to combine this with my illustrative work, but that's still a while off.
It does however feel good to finally scratch the surface of this beautiful and rich artistic tradition.

Was doing a bit of moving today and I found a dusty portfolio of studies from 2020 behind my wardrobe (of course) that I had forgotten all about. Found a few that I liked.
The two gouache paintings I actually couldn't help but scan in and rework a tad in Photoshop. The rest are as they were, cheers.
