Midsummer
During midsummer (a period of about 4 to 5 days around the solstice) we celebrate that the sun is at its highest point. A festival that was celebrated all over Europe. We honor the energy and power of the sun on nature and on all living things. Without light there is no harvest and no life. A great time to toast together to the magic of life!
Fijne midzomerfeesten!

The Tribe of the Fox made more than 100 video's about ancestors, naturespirits and deities. Dirkje and Martijn read about our ancestral spirituality and practice it. Trancejourneying is a major part of our spiritual life. Later this week we will publish the first of 5 video's ( Nearly 2 hours of material in total🙂) about the heathen Underworlds. Saying that trancejourneying the Underworlds is interesting is an understatement😄. Yes, Underworlds because there are many. Stay tuned, folks🦊. (picture: Diego Sanchez for the Ginnrunbok)

Fierljeppen,
Fierljeppen (phonetically pronounced fiel-lep-en) directly translated from Frisian, fierljeppen means “far leap.”
This athletically demanding sport hails from West Frisia, Friesland but has spread all over the Netherlands, next door to Germany and even to other continents.
Fierljeppen is a sport that was born out of necessity, the need to get over the various canals that criss-cross the Netherlands. Farmers began the practice when they decided that instead of going around the water, they would go over it. (See picture 2)
There are written records of fierljeppen dating all the way back to the 1200s, and paintings of people fierljepp-ing their way across the fields.
The Dutch hosted the first fierljeppen competition in 1767.
Bridges and roads being built in the Netherlands, reduced the need for fierljeppen. The Dutch turned it into a competitive sport in 1975.
The world record distance for fierljeppen is now 22.21 metres, held by Jaco de Groot from Woerden, Utrecht.

Wow! Very recently they discovered a very exceptional Roman sanctuary in the east of the Netherlands. The excavations are started. It concerns a temple complex with remains of statues of deities, votive (altar) stones dedicated to gods and goddesses and pits with remains of sacrifices. This all is in relatively good condition. It is a complex with various temples from the first to fourth century AD.

Cobalt blue glass bracelet, from a private collection in the Netherlands. It is dated to the 3rd century B.C. and said to have come from the burial of a Gallic noblewoman somewhere in the Balkans.

I am so proud to present a 5 part series (nearly 2 hours of material) that Martijn has made for our Youtube channel with great dedication for the spirituality of our ancestors. The Ironwood, Muspelheim, Ginnungagap, Helheim, Niflheim, these are just a few terms that come up. From the beginning to the end you will be taken in these worlds, collectively called 'Undirheimar' or the underworlds. Martijn has studied these worlds, but has also experienced them to a large extent. I actually think this series is a complete course in which you learn a lot for free in a short time. I think it's good to share this series as much as possible among your heathen friends and other interested people. It brings you closer to the faith of your ancestors. Curious? Here is part 1 of the 5

Trees have seen many things rain and snow, birth and death, kingdoms rise and kingdoms fall, yet the thing they look forward to most much like us are the simple things like the rising of the sun. Are You Tough Enough for Hyperborean Radio (Uncensored)?

Blóðughófi,
Blóðughófi meaning "Bloody hoof" is the name of the horse owned by the Slayer of Beli, Freyr.
In Skírnismál, Freyr gives Skírnir a horse able to run through fire to ride on to Jötunheimr to woo Gerðr.
The animal is mentioned in a verse from the fragmentary poem Kálfsvísa, and quoted by Snorri Sturluson in Skáldskaparmál.
The name also appears in a list of horses enumerated in the Rhymes of Þorgrímr:
"Blódughófi hight a horse that they said beareth the strength-eminent Atridi;"

After several times trancejourneying to Fenris and Jormundgandr i came to appreciate them more and more. So i made two depictions of them for my altar. After all, i am an Ironwood guy. I prefer not to buy things for the altar so i used cardboard to draw on. The stand is made from teapackage. By making it yourself it's it is your energy in your altar🙂
