Unfun fact: The medical and science talk is how I fell for a few right wing grifts when I was thirteen. After a relatively short time of maybe a couple months I realized that being an asshole was too draining for me, met actual trans people, saw more than just my bigoted tiny town I mostly grew up in, and learned that the “science” and “facts” were bullshit; lead to learning the lesson of correlation ≠ causation. They often take a real problem, tell you it is something that happens to coincide with it causing it (eg: shitty movies with shitty lgbtqia+ representation attempts where the lgbtqia+ “attempt” is blamed) to either distract from the true corrupt cause or create an enemy to justify evil actions that harm all under the guise of fighting the enemy. This is their most effective tool for getting people into their pipeline. It is also the foundation of how they are able create false definitions and caricatures that seep into the public (eg: the idea that trans people are all men who chose to be women or women who chose to be men when it is never a choice as much as what we naturally are (with a small handful of exceptions in our already small population), that people are only ever convinced or groomed to be trans, and that is sexual and thus kids should be shielded from it) which seem simpler and easier to understand to the average unexperienced person steeped in them and are either not challenged in any serious way or outright perpetuated by established figures that are supposedly on the left. This then feeds back into making it easier to create false causation from correlation to pull more people to the right then reframe the world at their convenience and make those that fight back look like they are the ones disagreeing with obvious reality which is also why established left figures just let it happen due to their own vanity and lack of actual care. This is actually why I really recommend avoiding making fun of early stage victims of the pipeline since it is a truly insidious threat not be taken lightly that only thrives off being made out as stupid to fall for because almost nobody will ever accept the idea of themselves being stupid so obviously what they fell for can’t be stupid which leaves the next simplest solution as what they fell for actually being right and them being smarter for seeing that. This is where we need to not make fun of it, and instead we have to pull their frames and filters down to help those tricked by them understand that they are tricked into being victims rather than fooled into being idiots if we want to counter the strongest tools against us; it must be done with cold efficiency lest we play right into their defense which is to point out any fingerprint we left near the real image of reality since they have the advantage of their filters already being there making our restoration of what is real look like an edit to the general population.
