The first-ever IDO on The Open Network.

Today, the TON blockchain reached a milestone: The Tonstarter launchpad announced that the Fanzee sports project would be the first in TON’s history to have an IDO.

What’s an IDO?

Without getting bogged down in details, an IDO, or initial decentralized exchange offering, is a way to attract funding for projects in an early stage of development.

An IDO is essentially a method to give a broad audience an opportunity to obtain tokens of a project in early development.

Ideally, an IDO’s distribution procedure benefits everyone: the project gets investments to continue development, and investors receive tokens that could potentially rise in value once it gets listed on a DEX.

Why is this important for the ecosystem?

The network’s inaugural IDO and Tonstarter’s first launch mark a new era for the DeFi market on TON. Private investors will get the chance to invest openly and transparently in up-and-coming services, while crypto projects raise funds as an instrument to develop further.

We’re confident that this is just the first of many IDOs, and once DEXs start popping up, the TON market will surely experience a surge in financial activity.

We’ve already discussed what a launchpad is and published a post on the Web3 sports-centric Fanzee startup, which raised over $2 million in investments.

This message does not constitute financial advice. If you invest in crypto products, you thereby incur the risks.
An accelerator for TON-based game developers.

TON Play, a Web3-gaming launchpad on The Open Network, is launching an acceleration program for video game creators and offering developers help.

The TON ecosystem continues to see more vital infrastructure-centered projects: launchpads, DEXs, new NFT standards, and user-friendly crypto wallets and services tailored to the masses are actively integrating with Telegram web bots.

These projects are allowing the network’s infrastructure to evolve to open the doors to many more opportunities for GameFi product creators. So, we’re more than happy to recognize TON Play’s initiative.

If you intend to create (or are already in the process) a gaming product on TON, you can submit an application to participate in the accelerator program here:

Validators vs Nominators

If you are familiar with cryptocurrencies, you must have heard about validators and nominators. These words often appear in crypto-related channels (our channel isn't an exception). Now, the time has come to find out who they are – the two major actors ruling the blockchain.

First, let's speak about validators. A validator is a network node that helps keep the blockchain running by verifying (or validating) suggested blocks and allowing to record them in the blockchain. To become a validator, you must follow two requirements: have a high-performance server and obtain a serious amount of TON, 600,000, to make a stake. At the time of writing, there are 227 validators on TON.

It's evident that not everyone can afford to have hundreds of thousand Toncoin on their balance – that's why nominators come into play there. Simply put, the nominator is a user who lends his TON to validators. Every time the validator earns the reward by validating blocks, it is distributed between the involved participants.

Some time ago, Ton Whales ran the first staking pool on TON with the minimum deposit of 50 TON. Later, TON Foundation launched the first open nominator pool. Now, users may stake Toncoin in a fully-decentralized way, starting with 10,000 TON.

TON DNS auctions continue!

Today, we’d like to share some results of the TON DNS auction, which kicked off about a month ago.

When the event began, there were 13,038 open auctions for .ton domain names. 9,007 names have since been bought for a total of 3,920,023 Toncoin, which was removed from circulation.

The most expensive names to go were wallet.ton, casino.ton, and bank.ton, which sold for 215,250, 200,000, and 157,500 Toncoin, respectively.

Any user can participate in a .ton domain name auction.

If you decide to participate, please read our guide on buying a domain name and the auction’s rules.

To learn how to collect your domain name and assign it to your TON wallet address, please read this guide.

We also recommend reading our list of services that could help you in a TON DNS auction.

Remember that TON DNS auctions are an ongoing event and have no end date. You can partake in a bidding war for a .ton domain name at any time!
How to become a tester for TON-based products

Today, we’re going to tell you about TON’s testing platform, commonly called the testnet, why it’s needed, and how users can participate in testing TON-based products.

The testnet is a network for experimentation — a sandbox, if you will — where developers put their products through stress tests to perfect their smart contracts.

In technical terms, the testnet is analogous to the mainnet; however, the Toncoin used on the testnet is not real and has no market value — it’s strictly used for testing purposes.

Before a service is set to launch on the mainnet, its project invites users to test out the product on the testnet, allowing anyone to become a product tester.

We’ve put together a guide explaining how to create a TON testnet crypto wallet and how to navigate the testnet.

You can read the guide here:
https://telegra.ph/How-to-create-a-TON-testnet-wallet-and-navigate-the-testnets-services-08-30
A TON-based NFT collection will be on exhibit at the Louvre.

The NFT collection Annihilation from artist Ellen Sheidlin (who has 4.4 million Instagram followers) will be on exhibit at the Louvre Museum in Paris at the digital art festival Focus Art Fair from Sept. 1 to 4.

In June, the famous artist launched her first-ever NFT collection on the TON blockchain.

We’re gushing that such high-caliber art based on TON will be showcased on an internationally legendary stage.
Projects that have received TON grants.

You’re probably aware that there are a few funds and initiatives in the TON ecosystem that are dedicated to the blockchain’s development and supporting developers.

The projects of the following organizations kicked off at the end of summer. Today, we’re going to tell you about two teams that have received grants from the TON Foundation’s grants and sponsorship program.

Tonana DeFi Hub.

This project is developing decentralized cross-chain swaps and bridges between TON and other networks.

Today, Tonana Bridge supports token swaps between TON, Solana, Cosmos, and Near Protocol, but in the near future, developers will add support for Ethereum and BNB Chain.

DataTON Analytics.

This is a service that provides security for users of The Open Network.

The platform conducts automatic analyses and flags nefarious blockchain addresses with a special mark. It also allows users to submit complaints about suspicious addresses.

The project’s team intends to integrate the service into every popular TON wallet and explorer. This way, users will be able to identify phishing addresses, scammers, spammers, and vulnerable smart contracts directly in mobile applications.

DataTON Analytics began development not long ago, but it is looking for contributors and new team members.

Of course, this is just the tip of the iceberg regarding the number of projects receiving funding support from the TON Foundation’s grant and sponsorship program.

Stay tuned because we’ll be introducing you to other participants of the grant and sponsorship program shortly.
TON’s knowledge library on Stack Overflow.

The TON Foundation is launching an awards program for TON developers and enthusiasts who contribute to The Open Network’s knowledge library on the Stack Overflow platform.

Once per month, the most active participants who pose questions about TON and those who answer the questions of other users will receive prizes in Toncoin and NFTs.

You can read more details about the new program here:
https://t.iss.one/tonsociety/50

What is Stack Overflow?

Stack Overflow is a site of questions and answers for programmers and is one of the most prominent coding resources in the world.

The platform’s knowledge library holds millions of questions and tens of millions of answers. The site sees over 100 million visitors per month.

Why is this platform important for TON?

Programmers often come across the same issues when coding.

Therefore, a robust database of questions and answers allows developers to find solutions to problems quickly and effectively without spending hours reading chats covering the specialized topic.

We encourage all coding specialists to join the building of TON’s knowledge library and potentially win prizes.
GetBlock has added support for TON.

This news will be especially interesting for technical specialists and product developers on The Open Network.

In general, however, this is a meaningful event for the TON ecosystem, so we want to share it with the entire community.

In August, GetBlock, one of the most reliable API suppliers whose services are used by over 40 blockchains, including BNB Chain, Polygon, and Ethereum, has launched shared and dedicated nodes on TON.

What is GetBlock, and what does this mean for TON?

In simple terms, GetBlock is an infrastructure for creating decentralized applications, greatly simplifying the lives of blockchain developers.

GetBlock helps product creators to avoid doing complex and expensive work when launching nodes, effectively allowing specialists to concentrate their resources on the development instead of monitoring access to the blockchain.

GetBlock is also a solution to their own light-servers for sensitive services needing higher reliability than public nodes or APIs.

Developer support has always been one of The Open Network’s top priorities for the proliferation of the project.

Now, thanks to GetBlock, the entry barrier to begin developing products on TON has just become significantly lower.

25,000 Toncoin is up for grabs on the Huobi Global crypto exchange.

The Open Network and Huobi are revealing more of their massive joint promo campaign. Today, the exchange is starting CandyDrop Toncoin, where participants can win 25,000 Toncoin by meeting specific requirements.

Moreover, five randomly selected participants will win the CandyDrop Lucky Star worth 100 Tether (USDT).

How to participate in the contest

To be eligible for the CandyDrop, a user’s average trade volume for the TON/USDT pair over the past three days must be at least 300 USDT.

To put it differently, your total volume over the three days must be no less than 300 USDT. For example, you can make two trades for 150 USDT today, and tomorrow, you can make one for 300 USDT and qualify for CandyDrop.

What’s important is that the average of your trading volume over the three days equals 100 USDT or more.

If your average trading volume meets the criterion, you will qualify for a chance to win 25,000 Toncoin. The winners will be randomly selected.

We’ve put together a simple guide explaining how to register for the CandyDrop Toncoin:
https://telegra.ph/CandyDrop-Toncoin-on-crypto-exchange-Huobi-Global-09-08

You can find more information on the event and prize distributions on Huobi’s site:

2. From Sept. 9 to 16 at 4:00 (UTC), trade a minimum of 67 Toncoin in the TON/USDT trading pair.

How the funds from the prize pool will be distributed:

The 20 traders who have the biggest trading volume will share 9,700 Toncoin.

The remaining 10,300 Toncoin of the prize pool will go to those who fulfill the minimum requirement of trading 67 Toncoin.

Winners will receive their Toncoin prize automatically as soon as the contest closes.
