💎 DeFi - Decentralized finance
A collective term for financial products and services built on top of open-source blockchain technology. DeFi is a better, more transparent, faster, and easier to use alternative to the traditional financial system. Exchanges in DeFi are peer-to-peer, meaning they operate without a middleman. This is possible due to smart contracts that work purely on blockchain.

💎 DApps - Decentralized applications
These are applications built and running on top of a blockchain technology. The variety of applications is unlimited and may include web browsers, games, investment tools, blogging platforms, etc.

How does TON fit into DeFi?
TON is a decentralized blockchain technology that can process millions of transactions every second which allows for instant payments. TON aims to make DeFi more understandable and easily accessible to more people and serves as a platform for building DApps.

TON mining is over: all Toncoins are distributed.

Most of you might have already heard that PoW Givers dried out last night. This means that all coins are in TON community’s hands. From now on, TON blockchain will be supported by a Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism.

When Toncoin mining was still in its active stage, it was possible to participate in mining pools and earn cryptocurrency by lending a computer’s GPU to provide the power necessary for extracting coins. If you're interested to continue mining and earning Toncoin, consider the new initiative launched by TON Whales. TON Whales team set up an Infinity Mining Pool, where participants mine BTC and ETH, and get rewarded in TON for lending their GPU or ASIC computing powers.

We interviewed Ellen Sheidlin, a world-famous digital artist, who is launching her first NFT collection “Annihilation” on the TON blockchain.

Ellen shared some interesting information about what her collection will be like, "It will consist of 1000 living stones divided into races of birds, animals, insects and plants." Annihilation will go on sale next week on the TON Diamonds marketplace.

We’re glad to see The Open Network making strides not only among crypto enthusiasts, but also in the community of renowned digital artists.
