5 REASONS - Why a national Digital ID is nothing like your passport

1. Passports prove who you are, a government Digital ID could create a record of where you go, what you do, and when📍📲

2. Passports are for travel, a government Digital ID could become essential for banking, healthcare, housing, work, and everyday life🛂🏦

3. Passports can’t monitor your movements, a Digital ID could make tracking people’s activities faster, easier, and more widespread 🚫📡

4. Lose a passport, replace it. A hacked Digital ID system could expose sensitive personal data that can’t simply be reissued🔐⚠️

5. Passports stay in your pocket, a Digital ID lives online, increasing opportunities for data collection, tracking, and cyberattacks🧳🌐

4 ways to protect kids online - without government interference🔒

1. Does every child need a device at all?
If you decide they do, a simple call & text phone may be enough. If internet access is needed, use smartphones with parental controls or monitored devices. Guidance is available from Protect Young Eyes.

2. Parental controls:
YouTube uses Family Link/YouTube Kids, Instagram has private teen accounts and Family Centre, TikTok uses Family Pairing, WhatsApp only offers privacy settings, and Facebook uses privacy settings plus Family Centre tools.

3. Parental controls (on devices):
Use Microsoft Family Safety on Windows, Screen Time on Apple devices, and Content & Privacy Restrictions on phones. Turn on Safe Search or use child‑friendly search engines like Kiddle.

4. Restrict incoming content:
Most home routers let you block adult or unsafe sites for every device by using parental, control settings or adding sites to a blocklist.

ONE LOGIN NEEDS PROPER OVERSIGHT:

One Login has quietly expanded across 200+ government services - with more planned.

Going forward, no expansion of One Login should take place before safeguards for privacy and civil liberties are established and proper parliamentary oversight is in place.

Why is a system of this significance being allowed to scale to millions of people without full public debate?
