Marks of a Christian church:
(1) The church's Head and Founder is Jesus Christ
(2) Its only rule of faith and practice is the Bible
(3) Its members are to be only saved people
(4) Its government is congregational
(5) Its teaching on salvation is that it is by grace
(6) It has but two ordinances; Baptism and the Lord's Supper, and these are symbolic
(7) Its commission is inclusive
(8) It is independent
Wherever, in history, in whatever age, you find churches teaching these doctrines, you have a Baptist church, no matter what name it may go by. It matters not if we cannot, from church to church, trace it back to the First Baptist Church of Jerusalem. The succession is there but records may hinder or stop our search. What it teaches is the important thing. Jesus said the gates of hell would not prevail against His church so He guaranteed perpetuity. β Berlin Hisel

"Infant baptism is an error from beginning to end; corrupt in theory, and corrupting in practice; born in superstition, cradled in fear, nursed in ignorance, supported in fraud, and spread by force: doomed to die in the light of historical investigation, and its very memory to be bathed in all future ages by a disabused church. In the realms of despotism it has shed the blood of martyrs in torrents: that blood cries against it to heaven: and a long suffering God will yet be the terrible avenger.β

Merely having an open mind is nothing. The object of opening the mind, as of opening the mouth, is to shut it again on something solid.

It was great to go through 1 Corinthians chapter by chapter and verse by verse. Thanks to those that joined during the Gab Voice bible studies.
Love is the solution to so many of the problems that existed in Corinth, and itβs still the solution today. Just make sure your understanding of love aligns with Godβs Word and isnβt the worldly perversion of love.
Today might be a good day for you to read 1 Corinthians 13, and then read it again.

Everywhere you look in Scripture you find verses condemning the pagan abomination of the Catholic cult. @TitusMin
1 Timothy 4
1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

Christians Under the Law?
For some, this is a confusing topic and they are uncertain where the truth lies regarding our relationship to the Mosaic Law. Others are "evil men and seducers" who are intentionally "deceiving, and being deceived" such as those in the 'Hebrew Roots' cult.β¦

π¨ Beware of churches that teach a βtitheβ which was an Old Testament law for the nation of Israel to give 10%. Tithe means a tenth. There was the Levitical tithe (Numbers 18:21), the Levites had a tithe for Aaron and his sons who were priests (Numbers 18:26-28), and there was a Festival tithe, a tithe every third year etc.
Nowhere in the New Testament are believers taught to βtitheβ and it wouldnβt make sense anyway because we no longer have Levites, and arenβt at all under the Law. In Christianity, every believer is a priest.
Giving should be done gladly and generously knowing that everything we have is from the Lord anyway.
Acts 11:29 βThen the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaeaβ

Christians are not under the Mosaic Law.
The Bible is very clear about this and spends multiple chapters refuting the judaizing heresy of βgoing back to the Law.β

Matthew 20:22
But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.
Baptism is an ordinance for believers that publicly identifies us with our Lord Jesus Christ.

John Harvey Grime (1934) provided ten reasons Christians are not required to tithe.
"1. It violates the divine plan laid down in the New Testament Scriptures.
2. It violates every principle of church polity upon which all our churches stand.
3. If the Scriptures require our churches to tithe, we have not a single scriptural church in our association.
4. It changes our giving from the realm of voluntary worship to that of slavish obedience to law.
5. It makes our churches tax gatherers.
6. No Baptist Church has ever adopted it. Should a church adopt it, they would cease to be Baptist.
7. So far as history goes, it was never mentioned as a Christian or church obligation until after the 'great apostasy' in 250 A. D., and the union of Church and State in 325 A. D., and then only by the apostate church, and not by Baptists. The agitation among Baptists, of this question, is of recent date.
8. No Baptist Confession of Faith has ever mentioned it.
9. It screens the rich, and oppresses the poor.
10. Not one syllable in all the Bible that connects the tithe system with the churches of Jesus Christ. When Baptists leave the Bible, they get into trouble."
β Giving, yes! π« Tithing, no!
