Blue pill, red pill, black pill… are we about to overdose?

Once upon a time, when we believed in knights in shining armour, brave kings with round tables, frogs worth kissing and other such fairy tales, we were all consuming blue pills galore. Unknowingly, innocently, naively, believing things were just how they were meant to be and we would all live happily ever after.

Until red pills started to be dispensed by so called ‘tin hat wearing’ people from the dark alleys of alternative media and anonymous online forums.

Some of us, who had become disenchanted to learn that the knight was in fact gay, (hence the very shiny armour), that the King was most likely a pedophile, that the frog remained a frog despite the snogging and that fairy tales were simply a side effect from the blue pill we’d been fed from birth, chose to take the risk and swallow the novel, intriguing, red pill.

Swallowing it was not the problem, digesting it was the issue! Not only did it change us, it chaged the way we saw everything! Including our own friends and family. If only we could get them to swallow the damned red pill too, they would then see things like us and everything would be alright. Right?

But we discovered that most people were fanatic about their blue-pilled existence and getting them to give it up, was harder than rehabilitating a lifetime alcoholic!

After a few battles in the red-pilling war, we had to count our losses; no social life, ostracised by relatives, colleagues and friends, movies no longer enjoyable, mainstream media unwatchable, tv started collecting dust,  tap water not drinkable, most food to be avoided, developed allergy to doctors and hospitals, ‘trustworthy’ became an extinct adjective and paying tax went from painful to agonisingly infuriating.

The red pill changed everything.

Surprisingly, more and more people started taking it and in turn dispensing it, until, like a well-rehearsed scamdemic, it spread to an increasingly large part of the population and tin hats became the coolest fashion statement.

The red pill came without warnings or side effect descriptions. We took a leap of faith in our own judgment and despite all the life changing pains that came with it, none of us regret taking it, much like we don’t regret NOT taking the jab.

The red pill however, does come with a caveat; you will never trust anyone or anything. A rather dark side effect that can lead to, ‘The Black Pill’.

Just when we thought we were done swallowing, there’s a new pill in town! Oh dear! What to do?! Can we deal with more rejection? More despair? More doom and gloom?

Now that we had healed from the heartache of discovering the Knight with the glitzy armour was gay, we have to consider that the 78 year old supergrandpa we thought we could trust, might not be ‘Kosher’ after all?! Or in fact too ‘Kosher’?!

It’s all too much too soon. Give us a break. Please!🙏🏻

The problem is, that it’s our own army of truthers dispensing the ‘black pill’, those we listened to for years, are shoving it on our faces. Just when we thought we could have a respite, a sliver of hope, we have this new conundrum to deal with: To Be, or Not To Be, blackpilled.

Personally, I am not taking the black one.
