This morning I was breakfasting alone when I heard this annoying woman wittering outside the house. There was something in her tone - urgent, strident, pushy, relentless - that made me hate her. But I couldn’t think why anyone would be talking outside my house and began to think it was maybe the concussion making me hear voices. Then, finally, I went outside and realised. The roofer had turned up unexpectedly and put the BBC on the radio to keep him company. It was wall to wall climate bollocks promoting COP29. None of you listens to the BBC so I thought I’d offer this as an information service: the fuckers haven’t gone away. They’re worse than ever.
