🇪🇺 The EU launched its anti-racism strategy and it wants to create "diverse and inclusive neighbourhoods"

🔶 The document begins by laying out the EU's values: Human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law and respect for human rights. The whole telos, the ultimate purpose of the EU is to create "a society free from racism".

🔶 Why anti-racism? Because racism is bad for the GDP, for the shareholders and for the poor CEOs looking to cut down on employment costs by importing foreign slave labour

🔶 You can't fight racism without combating "anti-gypsyism", "anti-Muslim hate" and antisemitism. The EU pledges to stick to the IHRA definition of antisemitism which makes criticism of Jews and Israel potentially punishable by law

🔶 The EU Commission pledges to promote anti-racism in schools all across the EU through various activities as well as public awareness campaigns

🔶 The antiracism strategy will also tackle AIs who the Commission says have a tendency to racially profile

🔶 Perhaps the most important part of the document is close to the end where the EU Commission says it will create a special fund to be used exclusively to promote and create "diverse and inclusive neighbourhoods" all across the European continent

🔶 NGOs and the so-called "civil society" are going to be key in implementing the EU's strategy as per usual

🔶 The Commission pledges to promote anti-racism all over the globe and make it a key component of its foreign policy and diplomatic relations with other countries.

🔶 Lastly, starting in 2028, the EU will lock out its member states from EU funds if they are deemed to be racist
