Imagine a bug that every morning deletes one day or one week of work on your company's git. Completely random, when you least expect it. Maybe once a month, maybe once a year. You know it's gonna come. A bug you cannot fix, rooted deep inside the system. It's not a simple revert obviously, the commit history is erased.

It might be frustrating for the programmer but imagine the utter terror of the management: their profit, their ability to plan, all the deadlines could be unexpectedly compromised by this bug. Imagine the anxiety of coming to work every morning, only to discover that yes, today is one of those days and the work is gone. They are powerless.

The only way around it is to appease the bug. It will make requests and you can only comply or risk losing bigger and bigger chunks of your work.

That bug is called "worker's power" and, every time workers strike, managers see days or weeks of code disappear. They have only one option to make it stop: concede, appease, compromise.
