Just a Google Employee granting you access to private files. Dude revoked access as soon as he realized that I wasn't supposed to see it. ๐Ÿคฃ

We're cooked

Remember the promises of ColorOS being oh so great?
Yep, now you deal with a fucking captcha if the app is deemed unworthy! (and still an extra click even if it's not)

Xiaomi gave you 10 seconds to reflect on your sins, but ColorOS demands Active Intellectual Engagement.
Theyโ€™re gating the abyss behind jigsaw puzzles to keep the fruit-ass fellas out of the neural net. You want to bridge reality? Prove you have the mental fortitude to complete a security verification without your KD dropping.

Nothing is safe anymore, I suppose.
We should all buy iPhones to celebrate the death of Android.

Would be an interesting watch on how the root community will bypass this.

A hidden Easter egg has been discovered in Microsoft Office 97, nearly 29 years after its release. X user Albacore revealed the precise steps required to access developer credits within Microsoft Word. The process begins by setting the system date to 1997 or later, then holding the Control key while moving the standard toolbar in a specific sequence: left, down, right, and up, with the Control key released and re-pressed before each movement.

After completing this sequence, users must search the exact phrase โ€œThis is not a contest.โ€ including the period, through the Clippy assistant. This action displays the hidden credits. Holding Shift while pressing Search reveals additional animations.

Microsoft Windows PCs running Enterprise and IoT fails to shut down after January update

Microsoft has confirmed that a new bug prevents Windows 11 23H2 devices from shutting down and the Windows PCs instead restarts.

This issue affects systems with System Guard Secure Launch enabled & running Enterprise and IoT Windows editions with the KB5073455 cumulative update installed.

System Guard Secure Launch is a Windows security feature designed to protect the boot process from firmware-level attacks and malware such as rootkits.

Microsoft has thus released a workaround to shutdown the affected Windows PCs. Open CMD, type the following command and then simply press enter.
shutdown /s /t 0

However, there is NO workaround available for systems entering hibernation.

So please ensure you save all your work, and shut down when you are done working on your device to avoid the device running out of power instead of hibernating.

Some personal news:

This is my last day at Android Authority, and it also marks the end of my time posting Android news!

I've spent the past 10 years writing about Android, and I've enjoyed every moment of it. What began as a hobby in college โ€” tinkering with custom ROMs and modding my phone โ€” turned into a long career, one totally disconnected from my degree in Biomed Engineering.

I am not a developer by trade or education, so I've had to learn a LOT to report on Android the way that I do. I've had my share of missteps along the way, but thanks to the help from the developer and enthusiast community, I've learned SO MUCH. I hope I've been successful in passing much of that knowledge on to you!

Thank you to everyone who has followed my journey. I wouldn't have done this work for very long if nobody was there to read it. Your comments encouraged me to invest countless hours into finding new Android features, all in the hopes of sharing these discoveries with people who love the platform as much as I do!
