Asus to STOP supporting Unlocking Bootloader

ASUS provides its own unlocking tool for its phones same like Chinese brands
Previously, Asus announced that its temporarily stopping its Unlocking tool service to add support for Asus Zenfone 10 unlocking and the service will resume back in Q3

But now some people contacted Asus Customer Care as to when unlocking service will resume as month of August (Q3) has already started

Asus technical support informed that unlocking the bootloader on Asus Zenfones is NO longer possible and won’t be possible in the future.

Although, user's query was related to unlocking Zenfone 9, but Asus support made it clear that Zenfone 10 also will NOT be supported for unlocking the bootloader

But Asus has not yet announced anything officially, so consider it as a rumour only even if news is claimed by Asus support themselves

Nothing introduces its sub-brand — CMF by Nothing

According to Pei, CMF by Nothing will be a more affordable brand & will be focused on delivering "timeless designs" for great prices, along with "quality that's very hard to find" in its price segment.

CMF by Nothing will first launch a TWS earbuds & a smartwatch later this year
Both of the products will be inspired by "Design-LED " philosophy of Nothing

Well, TWS make a lot of profit for a brand since its cheap to manufacture it & then sell it for a higher price

For the smartwatch, Carl Pei tweeted that he feels a Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is useless
Ironically, he is a now launching a better smartwatch for cheap with even LESS features

I wonder what does CMF stands for?
Maybe it means — "Carl Mutual Fund"

Google made two wallpapers to celebrate its 25th birthday

To celebrate the 25th birthday of Google existing, the Japanese Google Store has released two wallpapers for Pixel phones with many references to the brand, such as a Chromebook, Google Cardboard, Google Maps, Google Messages, Google Nest, Google Search, Noogler propeller hat or the Pixel 7.

There are two variants of the artwork, one with thinner doodles made with the iconic Google colors, or one with thicker outlines in black with colorful shapes in the background.

Why is Redmi 12 5G with Snapdragon 4 gen 2 so cheap?

Xiaomi launched Redmi 12 5G powered by latest snapdragon 4 gen 2 at just 125$ only

It seems suspicious though, Let's find out!

Xiaomi website mentions that Redmi 12 5G does NOT use proximity & gyroscope sensors!

So, Xiaomi must have used Virtual proximity & gyroscope sensors which are just awful

Virtual proximity sensor is very inconsistent as the screen will turn ON during calls and mis-touches are frequent.
Addition of screen protectors will make it worse

Virtual gyroscope sensors will gave you delays while playing games on the smartphone.
GPS navigation while using the Maps would be inconsistent
It will even use more power from the battery than physical sensors

Fun Fact: Xiaomi China added that Redmi Note 12R uses Virtual proximity & Gyroscope
Xiaomi Global & India "hide it" 🤣

In short, Xiaomi chose to offer a Garbage User Experience while making its smartphone affordable

Asus support was misunderstood about Bootloader unlocking situation

Asus Support care in Spain, Berlin, Netherlands and probably in more countries when asked about Bootloader Unlock tool availability claimed that Asus will stop supporting unlocking bootloader
Even the latest Zenfone 10 will not be supported

Moderators in ASUS Forums still claimed that Unlocking Tool will be available in Q3 2023.
But the Asus support still replied:
"We have been told by our head office that the unlock tool will no longer be used."

In reality, Asus support was misunderstood

An Asus PR clarified to Mishaal Rahman that:
"The service team reply misunderstood the situation. The unlocking tool will be available, so please stay tuned."

Indian Ministry of Defence is ditching Windows for Maya OS

Indian Defence Ministry will replace Windows in all its internet-connected computers with a new home-grown OS called Maya.
Maya OS is a new operating system that is based on Ubuntu (a popular Linux distribution)

The idea of Maya OS was conceived in 2021 after India faced several cyberattacks, so Defense Ministry decided to create its own OS which will be "more secure & reliable" than Windows

Maya OS has a similar interface and functionality to Windows, making it easy for users to adapt to it.

It also packs "Chakravyuh", which is an end-point anti-malware & antivirus software that creates a virtual layer between the user and the internet, blocking hackers from accessing sensitive data.

A team of experts from several Govt. Agencies like DRDO, NIC, Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) worked on Maya OS for 6 months

The Navy had already cleared it and the Army & Air Force are currently evaluating it

A new “Link Your Devices” menu in Android (isn’t live yet) but shows that Android devices linked using the same Google Account can find and share things with each other.

By Linking Android device, you can enable "Call Switching" which would allow users to switch between different Android devices for phone calls.

Another functionality will be “Internet sharing,” to share Internet across android devices just by linking your same Google Account

This setting will be located under Settings > Google > Devices & sharing.
Its unknown when this feature would be available

Its probably part of Android Ecosystem that Google is continuously Expanding
They will even add Finder network to ALL Android devices to find your lost/stolen smartphone if your android device has required hardware

Panasonic Sues Oppo and Xiaomi Over 4G Technology Patents

Panasonic has taken legal action against Oppo & Xiaomi, accusing them of using its 4G technology related patents in their smartphones without permission.

The claims relate to 4 patents that Oppo & Xiaomi infringed by selling smartphones that do not comply with the standards.

Panasonic said that it had successfully reached licensing agreements with other smartphone brands, but failed to reach with Xiaomi and Oppo after “years of bilateral negotiations”.

The lawsuits will proceed in NOT just 1 court but in 4 courts concurrently
It will be in China, Germany, the UK and the Unified Patent Court of the European Union (EU)

Oppo was recently BANNED from selling its own, subsidiary OnePlus & Vivo smartphones in Germany after Nokia sued Oppo over patents infringements

Chinese brand Huawei has also sued Xiaomi for stealing a cover screen-lock mechanism and other designs that Huawei patented
