TRAI likely to Direct Jio and Airtel to Stop Offering Unlimited 5G Data
Vodafone Idea complaint to TRAI that both Jio and Airtel have 30% market share and their 5G tariffs are predatory as they offered below cost services.
After investigation, TRAI (Telecom Authority of India) concluded that its not predatory but offering unlimited data as part of any plan is against the fair usage policy principle of tariff regulations, therefore the two should stop it.
Vodafone Idea is the only telco that has not started 5G services but offers 5G Ready SIM cards, whereas Airtel and Jio offer 5G services on existing 4G packs.

Google starts Rolling Out Passkey to users

Google announced that it is introducing a new, more secure way to log in to Google accounts with the help of PassKeys. They are also sending e-mails regarding the same to everybody
Passkeys allow users to “sign in to apps and sites the same way they unlock their devices: with a fingerprint, a face scan or a screen lock PIN.”
They are considered more secure than passwords and SMS one-time codes because they are more resistant to threats like phishing.
Passwords and two-step verification (2SV) will still work.

First impressions of Pixel 7a are out
Munchy
The YouTuber Munchy has managed to acquire a working Pixel 7a before the launch. Because of this, we got to see some camera samples, sound test and specifications of the phone.
Specifications:
• 6.1 inch 90Hz 1080x2400px (20:9) Samsung S6E3FC5 panel (like Pixel 7)
• Tensor G2 SoC
• 8GB LPDDR5 RAM + 128GB UFS 3.1 storage
• 64MP IMX787 main sensor + 13MP ultrawide (upscaled to 16MP?)
• 13MP selfie camera with 4K30FPS recording
• 4300mAh battery
• 193 gram weight (6.8 ounces)

• Goodix fingerprint sensor

EU warns Apple if they limit Charging Speed

European Commissioner Thierry Breton has sent a letter to the Apple warning them that limiting the functionality of USB-C cables would NOT be permitted and would prevent iPhones from being sold in the EU when the law goes into effect
EU also warned Apple during a meeting in mid-March for the same
For Type-C in iphone 15 series, Apple retains a fully proprietary Made-for-iPhone (MFi) Lightning ecosystem although its Type-C
So that they could limit Charging speeds if charged with other chargers
But Apple could still move forward with MFi on both iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 models because law will come in effect in December, 2024.
Already launched iPads will Type-C doesn't have MFi to limit Charging speed
