The Nothing Phone (2) will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 series which could be the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 to offer Satellite Communication.

The chipset means that it won’t be a mid-range device like Nothing Phone 1 and will offer a premium experience

Xiaomi launched CyberDog at MWC

CyberDog is equipped with an AI powered by the NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX platform complete with 384 CUDA Cores, 48 ​​Tensor Cores, a 6 Carmel ARM CPU and 2 deep learning acceleration engines.
It also packs Intel RealSense D450 Depth module for centimeter-scale obstacle avoidance

The CyberDog contains sensors, cameras and GPS modules and can create maps, navigate the environment and recognize faces. The Robot dog is priced at 1500$

Airtel at MWC announced that tariff hike again by mid-2023 in India

Airtel Chariman, Sunil Mittal at MWC said that the hike would be low compared to people’s spend on other things and disagreed that they are impacted.

He added, “Salaries have gone up, rents have gone except one thing. There is no one complaining. People are consuming 30GB for almost paying nothing. We don't have more Vodafone type of scenarios in the country."

But instead, there were all layoffs in every Tech industry rather than salaries going up even in Big MNCs like Google, Amazon etc.

Recently In January 2023, Airtel hiked its 28-day minimum recharge plan by 57% from ₹99 to ₹155, in 8 circles.

Lenovo showcased Rollable Laptop prototype at MWC

This laptop prototype starts with a traditional 12.7-inch display with a 4:3 aspect ratio into an almost-square 15.3-inch display with an 8:9 aspect ratio when the rest of the display rolls out from underneath the keyboard.

The resolution increases from 2024x1604 to 2024x2368

Lenovo says that the prototype’s rollable panel has the same durability as the ThinkPad X1 Fold, which means it has been tested for 20,000 to 30,000 cycles of rolling up and down. The laptop is rather thick at 17.9mm.

Metavision: The Potential 4th Sensor for Your Smartphone Camera showcased at MWC

Prophesee and Qualcomm partnered to bring the "event-based" Metavision technology to future smartphones. It solves common smartphone camera problems, such as blurry pet photos, unusable sports action shots, and smudged low-light snaps.

Prophesee partnered with Sony to integrate 2 IMX sensors and Qualcomm to provide processing platforms with Metavision. The tech was demoed with Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chipset

Metavision technology calculates the direction and amount of motion to produce a map of moving pixels, rather than capturing full images. Images are corrected for motion blur using Snapdragon's AI/DSP processing capabilities before traditional color correction is applied.

A single event-based Metavision sensor can only work with one perfectly matched focal length RGB camera at the moment, due to pixel count limitations.
The current sensor supports 12MP (after binning)

Xiaomi announced solid-state battery

Xiaomi says that its pre-developed solid-state battery tech can offer an 20% improvement in cold areas, acupuncture and density.

Cold temperatures reduce lithium ion movement in standard batteries, causing a 60% drop in conductivity. Fixed batteries perform better and can discharge at temperatures as low as -20°C, making them suitable for high latitude use.

These batteries have an energy density of over 1,000Wh/L which allows for more energy to be stored in the same space compared to lithium ion batteries.

Puncture with a needle or other sharp object will no longer be a problem as with a solid electrolyte, which prevents the mixing of positive and negative particles

Plus, they are safer than regular ones, as solid electrolytes can prevent the penetration of lithium dendrites.
Those batteries are not yet ready but Xiaomi did experiment with it in Xiaomi 13 prototype with 6000mAh battery
