Meta (Facebook) is copying Telegram channels in Instagram
Meta is introducing its own take on Telegram channels with broadcast channels on Instagram, CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced
With this, creators can broadcast messages and updates to a broad audience of followers. Followers will NOT be able to post in the channels, though they can emoji react to posts and vote in polls.
Zuckerberg’s channel, called Meta Channel 📢, Mark will share “news and updates on all the products and tech we’re building at Meta.” He says he’ll be sharing news to Meta Channel first, which could be a devious hack to get people to follow it.
It only works on Mobiles as of now and channels will “support collabs with guest appearances, AMAs and more, Mark says.
Channels can be pinned and linked to your profile to make it easier for others to join.
Channels can be open to all of your followers, but you can make them exclusive to paid subscribers.

Disney+ Hotstar was down because of domain renewal mess
Hotstar crashed on Friday as countless users were engrossed in watching an India-Australia test cricket match.
But as Disney+ Hotstar assured us that they were working to get things back to normal.
Although, Screengrabs of the domain data imply that Disney had briefly lost ownership of hotstar.com because the employees forgot to renew the domain LOL
Meanwhile the company cited as “unforeseen technical issues" across its apps and web without divulging any details.

SMS based 2FA for securing an account will now be a paid feature in Twitter
Twitter users who secure their accounts using 2FA will lose the extra layer of security after March 20 unless they change their Two-Factor Authentication method or pay for the Twitter Blue subscription which is 11$ per month if subscribed using mobile
Two-factor authentication allows people to protect their accounts even if someone has stolen their password.
So... Twitter will be less secure unless everyone pays Elon $8 a month? Delightful.
Also, if any guy account gets hacked on Twitter, Elon Musk will blame that guy saying that he did not pay Twitter 11$, so its not Twitter's security fault?
And what if it gets hacked even after paying for Twitter Blue? Oh then its users fault probably as others accounts are secured

Microsoft is giving a demo of Bing chatbot to ad agencies, with plans for paid links within the chatbot responses and industry-specific ads
Microsoft will be taking traditional search ads, in which brands pay to have their websites or products appear on search results for keywords related to their business, and inserting them into responses generated by the Bing chatbot
Links from Bing's results are collected at the bottom of each response, making them fairly easy to click.
OR in another ad format, ads might show up based on a user's queries.

Apple's App Tracking Transparency feature, which requires user permission for tracking, has significantly reduced ad revenues from free apps that rely on personalized ads. Meta predicts a $10B ad revenue loss due to this change. As a result, Elon Musk's solution was to sell Twitter's blue check marks at $11/month , the same Meta is going to do
A developer has Reverse-Engineered Instagram’s source code to find that Meta is preparing to offer paid Instagram and Facebook verification badges. The code explicitly refers to a “paid blue badge” and a new subscription product.
