Geekbench 6 launched with "Material You" support on Android
The new GeekBench version adds new tests:
• “Background Blur” (for video calls)
• “Photo Filters”
• “Object Detection” for AI
• New tests for tagging metadata on photos and text processing
There are other changes under the hood such as:
• Many existing tests have been updated to better reflect modern workloads
• Tests now better take advantage of the GPU instead of just CPU
• Multicore scores have also been revamped, with the new scale measuring how cores share workloads in “true to life” scenarios.
• More accurate and comparable results when dealing with CPU architectures that mix “big” and “little” cores.
The interface got revamped with a semi Material You look, but it doesn't adapt to the colors of your system, and is blue like the GeekBench logo. (it also looks ugly and unfinished, look at the status bar 🤮)
GeekBench is now free for non-commercial uses, and the Pro version now includes command-line automation, offline result management, and a stand-alone version and to celebrate the 6.0 launch licenses are discounted by 20%

Employees worked overnight investigating the cause for decrease in Musk's tweets visibility because many people may have blocked/muted him
Twitter used "power user multiplier", code to automatically bypass Twitter’s filters and artificially boosted Musk’s tweets by a factor of 1,000 – a constant score that ensured his tweets rank higher than anyone else’s in the feed.
The code also lets his account bypass heuristics that limit the number of tweets from a single account.
As a result, 90% of Musk’s followers now see his tweets

Future Galaxy Watch might be equipped with a Projector

Samsung has filled a patent wherein the Galaxy Watch’s projector can mirror the main screen on an adjacent surface (like a hand) or display additional information.
Also users can view videos and images sent via messaging apps like WhatsApp etc.
The diagrams on the patent also show a bunch of lenses and LEDs aligned in two rows that would allow for an undistorted projection of the image or the content on the hand via the built-in projector on the Galaxy Watch.
The LEDs imparting the information could be brighter, depending on the nearest focal distance, Samsung says, or could intelligently tilt clockwise or anti-clockwise
In simpler words, you wouldn’t need to have your wrist perfectly straight for the projected image to be properly displayed.

Meta is introducing its own take on Telegram channels with broadcast channels on Instagram, CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced
With this, creators can broadcast messages and updates to a broad audience of followers. Followers will NOT be able to post in the channels, though they can emoji react to posts and vote in polls.
Zuckerberg’s channel, called Meta Channel 📢, Mark will share “news and updates on all the products and tech we’re building at Meta.” He says he’ll be sharing news to Meta Channel first, which could be a devious hack to get people to follow it.
It only works on Mobiles as of now and channels will “support collabs with guest appearances, AMAs and more, Mark says.
Channels can be pinned and linked to your profile to make it easier for others to join.
Channels can be open to all of your followers, but you can make them exclusive to paid subscribers.
