Опубликован выпуск приложения StartWine-Launcher 411, развиваемого для запуска в Linux-системах программ и игр, собранных для платформы Windows. Основной целью разработки StartWine-Launcher было упрощение процесса создания новичками префиксов Wine, - наборов библиотек и зависимостей Windows, необходимых для работы Windows-приложений в Linux. Код StartWine-Launcher написан на языке Python и распространяется под лицензией GPLv3. Интерфейс реализован на основе библиотеки GTK.

The GNOME project today announced the release of GNOME 49 “Brescia”, a new version of the popular open-source desktop environment. GNOME 49 features new default apps, new lock screen features, smoother interface animations and a glut of usability and accessibility improvements. This update is notable for being the first version of the GNOME desktop to not support running on Xorg/X11 by default. Для системы GNU/Linux доступен новый релиз свободного (GPLv2+) менеджера этой самой системы.
В этой версии:

выпилен механизм cgroup v1 (ранее объявленный устаревшим);
более строгие права доступа для tty\pts (0600);
убрана поддержка System V runlevel (и сопутствующих initctl, telinit);
в следующем релизе запланирован выпил service-файлов System V и iptables;
добавлена поддержка шифрованных учётных данных служб (service credentials) для пользовательских юнитов;
продолжается активное расширение интерфейса Varlink для всех компонент systemd;
systemd-networkd-wait-online обзавёлся параметром --dns позволяющим дождаться не просто сети, но сети с функционирующим DNS;
поддержка псевдонимов (альтернативных имён) для пользователей в systemd-homed и systemd-userdbd;
поддержка множественных ключей в homectl для облегчения миграции между системами;
новая утилита systemd-factory-reset и сопутствующий target;
множество других нововведений и поводов для плодотворных дискуссий.
