Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS HWE update now available

The Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS hardware enablement stack (HWE) has finally hit the updates repo, bringing Linux kernel 6.17 and Mesa 25.2.7 to users on the current long-term support release. All users on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS can install this newer kernel version and updated GPU driver set as a regular software update. В репозиторий системы виртуализации VirtualBox добавлены изменения, позволяющие использовать встроенный в ядро Linux гипервизор KVM вместо специфичного модуля ядра VirtualBox (vboxdrv). Реализация подготовлена сотрудниками Oracle и не пересекается с бэкендом VirtualBox-KVM, параллельно развиваемым компанией Cyberus Technology. После почти четырёх месяцев разработки состоялся выпуск 0.40 консольной утилиты nwipe, предназначенной для надёжного стирания содержимого дисков с использованием многих методов стирания и генераторов псевдослучайных чисел (ГПСЧ). Она может стирать как один диск, так и несколько одновременно.

JetBrains переводит IDE IntelliJ на использование Wayland по умолчанию

Компания JetBrains объявила о решении включить по умолчанию поддержку работы с использованием протокола Wayland в интегрированных средах разработки на базе будущего выпуска IntelliJ 2026.1. До релиза протестировать поддержку Wayland можно воспользовавшись EAP-сборками IntelliJ IDEA (Early Access Program). IDE, основанные на IntelliJ, теперь смогут напрямую запускаться в средах рабочего стола на базе Wayland, без использования XWayland. Новые возможности:LibreOffice 26.2 позволяет импортировать и экспортировать файлы в формате Markdown (.md), в том числе через буфер обмена. Также во время импорта Markdown можно использовать шаблоны ODT/DOCX для мгновенного форматирования контента в соответствии с определённым стилем оформления.
Base, база данных от LibreOffice, теперь действительно поддерживает многопользовательский режим. Вы можете работать с базами данных одновременно с другими пользователями, не сталкиваясь с раздражающими проблемами блокировки файлов, которые заставляют вас «по очереди» редактировать данные.
Благодаря поддержке формата буфера обмена BIFF12, Calc позволяет вставлять большие массивы данных из Excel без ограничений по размеру. Теперь в качестве целевой папки для сохранения файлов XLSX по умолчанию используется «Электронная таблица Excel 2010–365», поэтому вам не нужно выбирать её вручную каждый раз, когда вы хотите поделиться файлом.

В Writer система отслеживания изменений более эффективно обрабатывает конфликты «взаимозависимого редактирования», позволяя вам самостоятельно решать, какие изменения принять, вместо того чтобы гадать за вас и вызывать сбои в работе документа с отсутствующими абзацами и запутанной историей правок.
В Writer также добавлены опции выравнивания начала и конца абзацев, которые адаптируются к направлению текста. Это упрощает повторное использование стилей в документах на разных языках.
