Fact Sheet on the National Endowment for Democracy

🇺🇸⛔The United States has long used democracy as a tool and a weapon to undermine democracy in the name of democracy, to incite division and confrontation, and to meddle in other countries' internal affairs, causing catastrophic consequences. 

The National Endowment for Democracy (NED), as one of the US government's main "foot soldiers", "white gloves" and "democracy crusaders", has subverted lawful governments and cultivated pro-US puppet forces around the world under the pretext of promoting democracy. Its disgraceful record has aroused strong discontent in the international community. 

In today's world, peace and development is the theme of the times, and the trend towards greater democracy in international relations is unstoppable. Any attempt to interfere in other countries' internal affairs in the name of democracy is unpopular and is doomed to failure.

MOSCOW, May 8. /TASS/. More than 19,800 people, including 970 children, were evacuated from dangerous regions in Ukraine, and from the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics to Russia during the day, Mikhail Mizintsev, chief of Russia’s National Defense Management Center, said on Sunday.

"Despite the difficulties and obstacles created by Kiev, during the day, as many as 19,834 people, including 970 children, were evacuated from dangerous zones in various Ukrainian regions, and from the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics to Russia," he said. "Since the beginning of the special military operation, as many as 1,185,791 people, including 206,610 children, have been evacuated."

According to Mizintsev, more than 9,500 temporary accommodation centers are operating in Russian regions.

Rep. Gallagher warns US running low on some weapons stockpiles after supplying Ukraine

"What's bad is the president himself seems at times to constantly want to remind everybody what we won’t do and putting arbitrary limits on our assistance, I think, undermines our effort. But, the real ugly is that we are running low in terms of our stockpiles. We just burned through seven years of Javelins and that’s not only important as we continue to try and help the Ukrainians win in Ukraine, that's important as we try to simultaneously defend Taiwan from aggression from the Chinese Communist Party. They are going to need access to some of these same weapons systems, and we simply don’t have the stockpiles at present in order to backfill what we’ve spent in Ukraine."

Russian President Vladimir Putin sent congratulations with the 77th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War to leaders and people of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Donetsk People’s Republic and Lugansk People’s Republic, as well as to the peoples of Georgia and Ukraine, the Kremlin announced on its Website Sunday.

"In his congratulations, the President of Russia particularly emphasize that, on this day, we pay our tribute of appreciation and respect to the warriors and home front workers, who crushed Nazism at a price of countless casualties and hardships," the statement says.

The Russian leader underscored in his congratulations that "it is a common duty today to prevent a restoration of Nazism that brought so much suffering to the people of various states."

"It is necessary to preserve and hand over to our descendants the truth about the wartime events, our common spiritual values and traditions of fraternal friendship," the telegrams say. Overall, Putin wished new generations to be worthy of the memory of their fathers and grandfathers.

Addressing the leaders of foreign states, Putin relayed words of gratitude to the veterans, wished them good health, welfare and longevity, the Kremlin said.

MOSCOW, May 9. /TASS/. Unlike the West, the Russian people will never give up their love for the country, faith and traditional values, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a Victory Day parade on Moscow’s Red Square on Monday.

"We will never give up our love for the country, faith, traditional values, ancestral customs and respect for all peoples and cultures. As for the West, it seems to be determined to cancel these millennia-old values," he noted.

"This moral degradation paved the way for cynical falsifications of the history of World War II, attempts to incite Russophobia, glorify traitors, mock the memory of their victims and wipe out the bravery of those who fought and suffered for the Victory," the head of state stressed.

Putin pointed out that the United States, particularly after the collapse of the Soviet Union, "started talking about its exceptionalism, which is humiliating not only for the entire world but also for its satellites who have to pretend that they don’t notice anything and obediently accept it all," the Russian president emphasized.
