And we imagined where Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen might have gone if he had decided to pursue a career not only on the track but also at university.
Max is a four-time world champion who has dedicated his entire life to motorsport. He has thousands of hours on the track, but lacks the experience of a traditional university education. His interests lie in two areas: engineering (he has always been involved in the technical aspects of the car) and sports management (how to build a champion team outside the cockpit).
Advisors would suggest that universities with strong engineering schools would be suitable for this profile—for example, TU Delft in the Netherlands or Imperial College London.
For sports management, we recommended business schools with programs in Sport Management & Business Strategy, such as the University of Liverpool or ESADE in Barcelona.
As a result, Max can receive offers from both the engineering program and the sports management program. The mentors helped him create a "dual track" so he could choose to delve deeper into racing car technology or transition to a management career. In both cases, the risk of wasting time is minimized, and the admissions strategy is as clear as possible.
Want your background to also be an advantage, even if it's not "classically academic"?

StudyQA fellows, we'll tell you how to prepare a strong application for the summit, which will take place January 28–31, 2026, in Paris. This guide covers everything from the required documents to tips on writing a motivation letter.
The jury's first check is your experience outside of school. It's important to show that you're not just a student, but a proactive person.
- Choose projects related to peace, equality, law, economics, and sustainable development.
- Emphasize leadership: when you led a team, mentored newcomers, or organized a process.
- Show social impact: what changed thanks to your actions? (For example: "organized a series of human rights workshops for 50 schoolchildren").
Tip: Don't list your entire activity list. Choose 2-3 of the most compelling ones and elaborate on them.
The jury reads it first. Therefore, it's important not just to say "I want to participate," but also:
- State your goal: what global problem do you want to solve and how will the summit help?
- Show a connection to your professional track (for example, "my future career in diplomacy requires international experience").
- Mention social activities that support your expertise.
- Answer: What can you bring to the summit? Experience, ideas, a project, a skill.
Tip: Write in the first person and add a personal story. History = credibility.
- CV (focus on international and social experience, leadership, volunteerism).
- Photo (official, but real).
- Proof of study or diploma.
- Letter of recommendation from a mentor or supervisor.
Tip: Check with your mentor in advance to ensure your letter isn't dry. Let it showcase your personality and contribution.
The jury looks not only at documents but also at your values:
Active citizenship—participation in initiatives and projects.
Leadership and mentoring—ability to lead.
Social impact—tangible contribution to the community.
Tip: Support each point with facts or stories, not mere declarations.
Submit application: October 25, 2025.
Results: November 5, 2025.
Confirmation of participation: November 15, 2025.
Summit: January 28–31, 2026.
Tip: Don't leave it until the last minute. Preparing your letter and recommendation takes at least 2–3 weeks.
Go to the Global Peace Chain website
Click Apply Now GPS Paris.
Complete the application form (personal information, experience, essay).
Attach documents.
Agree to the terms and conditions and pay the registration fee.
Wait for the email with your results.
Tip: Before submitting, have a friend or mentor review your application. A fresh perspective = fewer errors.
