❗️❗️❗️Цієї п’ятниці, 24 лютого 2023 року, ACK Heidelberg та Євангельський Альянс міста Гейдельберг запрошує всіх на чування та хвилину мовчання, які розпочнуться о 18:00 на Університетській площі. 🕯Згадаємо всіх загиблих на цій неправедній війні та жертв інших трагедій. Ми хочемо бути разом у тиші та співах, висловити своє співчуття та гнів.
Потім ми разом пройдемо головною вулицею до церкви Святого Духа, де зупинимося для молитви🙏. Завершимо зустріч солідарності приблизно о 19.45.
❤️🇺🇦❤️Приходьте підтримати один одного і висловити єдність з Україною та українцями.

On February 26th, we held a demonstration to mark the one-year anniversary of the war in Ukraine launched by Putin. The theme was "Victory for Ukraine, Peace for Europe, Democracy for Russia."
We observed a minute of silence for the victims and called for continued Western support for Ukraine. We also expressed admiration for the people of Ukraine and gratitude for political prisoners and activists in Russia and Belarus. We read Alexey Navalny's anti-war manifesto and letters from other political prisoners. The event included a performance act and live music from Russian singer-songwriter @frau.lustra.
The demonstration was covered by SWR.de and Rhein-Neckar-Zeitung.

Belarusians in Heidelberg invite you to join the celebration of our Freedom Day this Saturday. This day is a celebration of Belarusian identity and the struggle of the Belarusian people to build an independent and democratic country.
On 25 March 1918, Belarus declared its independence from the Russian Empire. Although the state would soon be occupied in the turmoil of WWI and divided between the Second Polish Republic and Soviet Russia, the declaration of independence forced the international community to recognise Belarusians as a separate nation distinct from their neighbours. This precedent led to the recognition of the rights of the Belarusian minority in interwar Poland and the establishment of the Belarusian Soviet Republic within the USSR despite the original plan to fully annex Belarus to Russia.
Joining us on this day, you will have an opportunity to hear a short lecture on the significance of Freedom Day in the historical context and its importance in Belarusian history, followed by an interactive quiz.
In addition, Belarusian musician Andruś Takindang plans to enrich the evening with his concert. Andruś is a charismatic and talented artist who performs in various styles such as contemporary folk, jazz, ska, reggae and punk.
