"Children with ADHD have been found to have a 7β12 point lower average full-scale intelligent quotient (FIQ) compared with controls. Furthermore, individuals with ADHD demonstrate reduced working memory capacity and poorer processing speed and reading comprehensionββThe relationship between autism and intelligence is, however, more complex. The majority of autistic individuals are intellectually impaired, although a few studies have shown areas of superior functioning compared with controls, particularly on non-verbal measures."
Hyperconnectivity in ASD was observed at the whole-brain and subsystems levels, across long- and short-range connections, and was associated with higher levels of fluctuations in regional brain signals. Brain hyperconnectivity predicted symptom severity in ASD, such that children with greater functional connectivity exhibited more severe social deficits.
I think with autism the brain is tuned to truth. If things are out of place β breaking the rules, inconsistencies, disorder, confusing social cues, broken systems β then there's a physical reaction to it. Autists when developing, are building their world models, and they rely on their parents and local community to act as part of their training circuits. They require truth in these inputs to validate the world building model. Unfortunately, parents lie about everything. So the autist is learning language, world navigation, societal systems in a place that is persistent, then they realise that the main input to their existence, their parents, are unreliable. Every white lie, every small emotional dishonesty, causes increasing pain as it makes the world map shudder with the incongruence. This is where stimming helps. A small repetitive movement provides a truthful reference, to help ground in this physical world. It may need to be bigger to drown out the noise. In extreme cases, withdrawal is the only safe defense. Existence is pretty interesting, even if you cut out most of the world. Autism is not the problem but growing up autistic in a dishonest world that doesn't support building their pure framework is hurtful.

not to lecture you but you have to find what youre good at and stick to it dont deviate into some bullshit you are terrible at, i know where my intellectual capabilities and natural skills lie and i have to actively avoid my weaknesses no matter how tempting they are... it sucks to suck and id hate to see myself fail in areas that are not meant for me. leave it to the big boys, learn from them.
