โ€œPlaying Natalie for years, itโ€™s interesting how it psychologically affects you and how Natalie is similar to me in some ways, but also very different. Itโ€™s an escape, but then itโ€™s also facing yourself head on, Natalie is bleeding into me to some extent.โ€

Recently, Sophie snagged a role in "MAXXXINE," the final chapter of a horror trilogy with Mia Goth, dropping on July 3rd. Todayโ€™s trailer drop for "HERETIC" got everyone buzzing, as Sophieโ€™s stepping up in the lead alongside Hugh Grant. This A24 thriller has her playing a Mormon girl trapped by a twisted cult, and sheโ€™s totally nailing it with her real-life Mormon background. "HERETIC" hits theaters this fall. On the music side, Sophieโ€™s been grinding on her solo project, with two music videos and the album cover already in the bag, thanks to Jason Renaud. The albumโ€™s set to drop later this year, and her partner Austin, from the band โ€œSlow Hollows,โ€ is right there with her, proving their shared love for music.

"Reflecting on your upbringing in a Mormon family where music was integral to your church experience, how has this early influence shaped your current passion for music and your artistic journey today?"

Music has been my ride-or-die forever. Iโ€™m always plugged in, vibing to tunes for hours daily. My first memories are all tied to certain tracksโ€”theyโ€™re like timestamps for different phases of my childhood. With my mom jamming on the church organ and the fam having a seriously diverse taste, music was pretty much in my blood. Mom's Roxy Music sessions were a regular thing, and my brother introduced me to Radiohead when I was 11, which I totally turned into my whole identity (like, super extra). Singing in the church choir gave me mad confidence for performing, and then musical theater took things up a notch. Music has been my go-to therapy, creativity booster, and the deepest personal escape.
