🇷🇺🇺🇦 Attack on the Kanatovo military airfield in the Kirovograd region

This afternoon explosions were reported in the Poltava and Kirovograd regions, in areas where Ukrainian air infrastructure is located.

- In the Poltava region, the missile was intercepted by air defense systems in the area of the Chechelevo settlement;
- In the Kirovograd region, a hit was recorded on the territory of the Kanatovo military airfield.

🔻 After analyzing the information received, it was established that the attack occurred between the stands of the MiG-29 and Su-27 fighters, over which the MALD ADM-160 launch systems were suspended and whose engines failed due to the impact of the shock wave (no subsequent detonation occurred and the explosives services removed the damaged ammunition). The planes themselves were not critically damaged.

📌 ADM-160 MALD (Miniature Air-Launched Decoy) is a missile weapon designed to create decoys and distract air defenses. In essence, it is an air-guided target capable of deceiving radars and air defense systems.

🔻Lately, launches of ADM-160 MALD missiles by Ukrainian fighters taking off from the Kanatovo and Mirgorod airfields along with combat launches of other launch vehicles from other airfields/airports have been repeatedly recorded.

🔻After last year's regular and relatively successful attacks on air infrastructure, the enemy covered the objects with electronic warfare and air defense systems, in most cases NATO standard, due to multiple losses of equipment and ammunition, as well as in the framework of preparations for the infrastructure for the use of F-16 fighters.

📌 Deployed electronic warfare systems are capable of influencing incoming missiles by creating interference and intercepting control signals, which sometimes leads to a loss of control of the missile or a change in its trajectory, which in turn affects the indicators quality of the effectiveness of the attacks.

🇺🇸 US military detects first deployment of underwater drone by Houthis, CENTCOM says

"Between the hours of 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm (Sanaa time) [12:00 to 17:00 GMT], Feb. 17, CENTCOM successfully conducted five self-defense strikes against three mobile anti-ship cruise missiles, one unmanned underwater vessel (UUV), and one unmanned surface vessel (USV) in Iranian-backed Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen. This is the first observed Houthi employment of a UUV since attacks began in Oct. 23," US Central Command (CENTCOM) said.

⛴ The detected anti-ship cruise missiles, unmanned underwater vessel, and the unmanned surface vessel in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen "presented an imminent threat" to US Navy ships and merchant vessels in the region, CENTCOM added.

The Houthis, who dominate Yemen's Red Sea coast, have threatened to attack Israeli-linked ships and called for other countries to avoid the area. As a result, some shipping companies have suspended operations in the Red Sea. The Houthis claim their actions are in support of Palestinians in Gaza but do not claim to restrict navigation in the region.

🔹In the #Zaporozhye Direction, Russian troops supported by artillery and aircraft attacked Ukrainian positions in the village of #Rabotino from the west and south. They also tried to build on their success northwest of #Verbovoye. (Fig. 1)

🔹On the #Donetsk Front, after the Russian troops took #Avdeyevka, there is a relative lull. The RF Armed Forces are probing defensive lines near #Lastochkino. Also, with the support of artillery, they carried out offensive operations near #Stepovoye (not to be confused with the settlements of the same name in the Zaporozhye and Ugledar directions).
💥 The AFU was under fire in #Novomikhaylovka, #Pobeda, #Georgiyevka, #Nevelskoye and #Orlovka.

7️⃣Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that there has been an “international attempt to force upon us a Palestinian state”, as he reiterated his opposition to a two-state solution. “Citizens of Israel, Everyone knows that it was me who – for decades – has blocked the establishment of a Palestinian state that would endanger our existence, he said on X.

At least 29,092 people including more than 12,300 children, have been killed and over 69,028 injured in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7. The revised death toll from the October 7 attack in Israel stands at 1,139.

🇮🇱 🇧🇷 Israel declares Brazilian president persona non grata for comments on Gaza war, reports say

"We will never forgive and never forget- in my name and in the name of the citizens of Israel, I notified President Lula that he is unwelcome in Israel until he formally apologizes and retracts his statement," Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz said on X.

This comes after Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva told reporters in Addis Ababa on Sunday that Israel's military intervention in Gaza "is not a war, it is a genocide," comparing it to the Holocaust "when Hitler decided to kill the Jews."

The Brazilian presidency's chief adviser, Celso Amorim, called Israel's decision to declare Lula persona non grata "absurd," saying it "only increases Israel's isolation."
