The protests began because of increased food and energy costs and because of the persecution of political opponents. Early elections and the resignation of the president were demanded.

Protests that should be right and proper in any democracy!

Later, protest camps were set up, which were recently demolished by the police.

The number of protesters is increasing along with the repression against the protests. Recently, 70,000 protesters were reported, an enormous mass when measured against the population of 2.5 million.

Western press and governments remain silent, while Moldovan human rights organizations, Amnesty International Moldova and others criticize the repression as disproportionate and abusive against the protesters, of course not much noticed because of the information blockade.

2. The current political situation resulting from the protests:

▪️ The so-called Western democracies are moving further away from their original values. What was smoldering before, but hinting at it, is now breaking out as an open fire due to the accelerant Ukraine crisis. The circle is simply not being squared.

▪️ Mutual shelling of the sides continues. The mortar battery of the 59th Motorized Infantry Brigade is shelling Ternovy Pody from #Lyubomirovka, and the mortar battery of the 3rd Battalion of the 28th Mechanized Brigade from #Luparevo is shelling #Alexandrovka.

▪️ The school building in #Luparevo houses the 3rd Battalion's command and observation post, and the site is equipped with a drone launch site.

#Andreevka Sector:

▪️ The Ukrainian command is conducting reconnaissance of the Russian Forces' positions on the frontline of the #Kostromka - #Bruskinskoye defense line. Ukrainian artillery is shelling Russian positions from #Murakhovka.

▪️ Over the past 24 hours, 74 pieces of equipment were moved to the left bank of the #Ingulets River via the established crossings, while 86 pieces of equipment has been moved to repair and reconstruction.

#Berislav Area:

▪️ The AFU are preparing fot another offensive attempt in the next 24 hours. A brigade artillery group of the 60th Separate Infantry Brigade is firing disruptive fire at the #Polyanka - #Sukhanovo - #Pyatikhatki line.

▪️ A platoon of the 97th battalion of the 60th Separate Infantry Brigade has arrived in Novaya Kamenka and the 96th Battalion of the compound is expected to arrive in the morning hours.

▪️ Composite assault groups of the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade are set on full readiness for an offensive near #Sukhanovo and #Polyanka.

▪️ The command of the 17th Tank Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade has moved more than a dozen tanks and armoured fighting vehicles from #Ukrainka to the vicinity of #Novogrigorovka and Novaya Kamenka.

▪️ A mortar company is deployed on the southern outskirts of Novaya Kamenka. Targeting and reconnaissance of the Russian positions is provided by the Bayraktar UAV from the vicinity of #Chervonoye.
