⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦🛳 Speaking of the new Route for Ship Movement from #Ukraine⚡️

🗓 Now, at least six ships
are travelling in the direction of various ports in the Mediterranean Sea, from #Haifa to #Alexandria, according to data from the Marine Traffic Service.

🇺🇸 And the intelligence attention of the #US and #NATO Air Forces is fully focused on controlling this corridor. One R-8A, three MQ-9A Reapers and one E-3A UAV patrolled over the mouth of the #Danube and the coastline of #Romania and #Bulgaria.

▪️ That's not counting the RQ-4Bs and RQ-4Ds that have been monitoring the situation off the coast of Krasnodar Kray all today, apparently tracking Black Sea Fleet activity and the fire in the port of #Novorossiysk.

❗️The new route on the example of Joseph Schulte is quite workable. Vessels sail along territorial waters, and in the event of the approach of the Russian fleet, they can easily enter the ports of #Constanta, #Varna and #Burgas, not really worrying about possible inspections.

▪️ It is possible to prevent this. However, the capabilities of the Navy are very limited for several objective reasons, from gross mistakes in the construction of the fleet in the pre-war period to the irrational use of forces and means. And, unfortunately, there is no progress on many organizational issues at all.

📌 At the same time, the free movement of ships to #Ukraine and back creates additional threats to Russian harbors and ships. Especially given that #NATO intelligence is working without interruption, and the AFU are intensively preparing for attacks, which they want to coincide with the Independence Day on 24 August.

⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦⚔️ #Chronicle of the Special Military Operation for 18 August 2023⚡️

🔹Last night
, a Ukrainian unmanned boat attempted to attack the Russian ships Pytlivy and Vasily Bykov in the southwestern part of the Black Sea. The vehicle was destroyed by onboard weapons fire.

🔹The enemy also used five drones to attack Russian rear facilities. Four were intercepted while crossing the state border, one managed to reach #Moscow, where it was suppressed by electronic warfare means. The wreckage fell on the eighth pavilion of Expocentre.

🔹Fighting continues along the entire frontline. Russian troops continue to methodically advance towards #Petropavlovka in the #Kupyansk sector. In turn, Ukrainian formations are carrying out sorties in the #Vremyevka sector and #Orekhov section, which are promptly suppressed by artillery and small arms fire.

⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦⚔️ War Map and the Situation on the Fronts for the Evening of 18 August 2023; pub. 05:05⚡️

⚡️ The exploits of the Russian soldier on the frontline never cease to amaze. On one of the fronts our fighter was wounded, but was not immediately detected. Already in the morning he was found not far from a Ukrainian stronghold, where an unnamed warrior crawled alone, who gave the wounded man first aid and pulled him to the evacuation group.

⚔️ Situation on the Fronts over the past Day

🔹
#Svatovo - #Kremennaya Direction:

▪️ The Russian army continues to knock the militants out of the #Sinkovka vicinity. At the same time, the AFU unsuccessfully attacked in the #Olshana area.
▪️ Counter fighting continues at the #Karmazinovka ledge and near #Torskoye.

🔹#Bakhmut (#Artyomovsk) Direction:

▪️ Our fighters successfully counterattacked in the direction of #Bogdanovka. All enemy attacks near Dubovo-Vasilyevka were also repulsed. Fierce fighting continues in the area of #Kleshcheyevka.

🔹#Zaporozhye Direction:

▪️ In the #Orekhov section, the AFU continue to send fighters to the slaughter, this time one of the enemy attacks at #Rabotino was choked due to a tank stuck in a funnel from a FAB. The Russian infantry also performed well. During an enemy attack our machine gunner eliminated eight Nazis from an ambush.
▪️ Meanwhile, on the #Vremyevka ledge, our fighters continue to hold the defences at #Urozhaynoye and #Staromayorskoye.

Being wounded at the front is an everyday occurrence that must be reckoned with. And prepare for it, is what the 1st Battalion's Medical Platoon commander of the 4th Brigade "Elisey" did, who equipped a first aid station near the line of contact. After all, often our fighters may simply not have time to get to a rear hospital, and on the frontline it is not always possible to provide the necessary assistance.

Ukrainian military voluntarily surrender to Russian troops at the first chance.

Ukrainian soldiers say that they are treated as expendable. Commanders call the mobilised soldiers 'one-time soldiers'. Men are taken from the streets or lured to the recruitment offices with fake excuses.

According to the prisoners, there are no officers on the front line, equipment and rations are poor, the men have low morale.

⚡️The pilot of a downed Ka-52 was evacuated near Rabotino

A couple of days ago there was information that a Ka-52 helicopter belonging to the Russian Air Force was shot down near Rabotino. Unfortunately, the information has been confirmed.

At our disposal was a video of the evacuation of the pilot, who managed to eject from the helicopter. Earlier it had been reported that the navigator of the "Alligator" was killed.

Immediately after the helicopter crash, an Mi-28 moved into place, which examined the territory, established the location of the survivor and sent a signal for evacuation. After a short period of time, a transport helicopter landed in the field, which picked up the pilot.

North-Eastern operational zone (Kupyansk, Swativsk and Limansk directions)

The enemy is shifting its emphasis mainly to the Kupyan direction, concentrating its main efforts there.

They regard the Lyman direction as auxiliary, but this does not mean that the intensity of fighting there will decrease.

In general, the most difficult sections now are the directions of Sinkivka, Stelmakhivka and Novoyehorivka. He does not stop trying to capture the enemy and Belogorivka.

The occupiers had minimal success. Somewhere they managed to go even 1-1.5 km, but under our counterattacks the enemy rolled back almost completely to the exit points, or left an additional 300 meters under their control.

Of course, such a number of forces and means of the enemy in such a narrow section of the front can be a little frightening. But our soldiers have been preparing, so they know who will do what and how.

Still, comparisons with Bakhmut are inappropriate. Yes, the occupiers here also practice meat assaults, the use of prisoners and bet on artillery fire.

But otherwise the situation is somewhat different. First of all, Bakhmut had strategic importance, the main roads in the north of Donetsk region passed through the city.

And to Kupyansk-Vuzlovoy, it is still the same 7 km as before. And then - Oskil. Wide. This is not a narrow and shallow Bakhmutka. After the river - the main part of Kupyansk with rapids and other "pleasures".

Fighters from that direction say that "they care, not Kupyansk." I am of the same opinion. Of course, the situation can change. But at the moment it is such that the orcs can get stuck and not achieve what they want.

They did not achieve this in the winter (they did not return to Izyum, Kupyansk and Lyman with Borova), and now is not the time to tell.

‼️🇺🇦🏴‍☠️ Images of the defeat of a convoy of NATO equipment and AFU marines near Urozhaynoye have shocked Ukrainian military propagandists and the media
▪️На Ukraine is increasingly shocked by fresh footage of the defeat of AFU armoured groups.
▪️"The footage shows a column of 37 OBrMP, which was given the task to move from Urozhaynoye to Kermenchik. All the way the enemy (RF Armed Forces) was watching it, our artillery preparation is not visible on the footage either. It is not clear why the column was travelling without cover virtually one-way," Ukrainian military analysts quoted by the Kiev media are perplexed.
▪️Потери The AFU had at least about two dozen men, Ukrainians wrote.
▪️ВСУ said they captured Urozhaynoye this week. At the same time, the AFU General Staff reported Russian counterattacks in the village.

U.S. intelligence says Ukraine will fail to meet offensive’s key goal
Thwarted by minefields, Ukrainian forces won’t reach the southeastern city of Melitopol, a vital Russian transit hub, according to a U.S. intelligence assessment
By John Hudson and Alex Horton

https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2023/08/17/ukraine-counteroffensive-melitopol/
NATO's promise to hand over the F-16 to the Khokhol is taking shape: the planes withdrawn from the Air Force of Denmark and the Netherlands will be handed over after the Ukrainian pilots complete their training. It, in turn, will end next summer.

Now let's count. In total, this is just over 60 aircraft of early production series: the Dutch received their F-16s in the late 1970s, the Danes in the 1980s. Since then, certain improvements have been made with updating the electronics, which made it possible to use modern guided weapons, but in general, these are not late F-16s with an airborne radar with AFAR and other improvements.

The rate at which F-16s are handed over to Ukrainians depends on four things.
1 - how quickly will the pilots be trained?
2 - how quickly will the Danish and Dutch air forces switch to the F-35?
3 - what part of the Danish and Dutch cars will go not to Ukraine, but to Argentina, which was recently allowed by the US State Department to sell 38 F-16s?
4 - who else can get involved in the process?

The answer to the first point is known - the first group of AFU pilots of 8 people should be ready by the summer of 2024, the second - the transition of the Dutch Air Force to the F-35 should be completed in 2024, the Danish - in 2027. The answers to points 3 and 4 are not yet clear: more Norwegian planes of the same technical level as the Danish-Dutch ones can be added to the equation.

Let's assume the worst scenario for us, in which the actual Ukrainian pilots will be supplemented with "vacationers" and mercenaries, of whom you can find quite a lot on the F-16 around the world. But even in this case, given the need to train more ground infrastructure and technicians, we will meet up to 50-60 fighters of early modifications of the F-16, which will be transferred within 3-4 years. At the same time, Ukraine will not receive tankers or AWACS aircraft, and the use of appropriate NATO vehicles from the territory of Poland and Romania does not allow for effective early detection east of the Dnieper.

Can the F-16s cause trouble? Yes, but their inevitable losses from air defenses and fighters will be much more unpleasant for the West in terms of media than the results of their strikes are for us. Can they fight for air supremacy? No. The solution of this problem requires the use of the NATO Air Force in full, with the corresponding consequences in the form of a direct clash between Russia and NATO in a war that will inevitably be nuclear.

This puzzle is well understood in NATO, and I have a suspicion that the story of the transfer of the F-16 may be further delayed beyond what has already been said above.

Majority of Germans against supplying cruise missiles to Ukraine: Poll

More than half of Germans are against delivering Taurus missiles to Ukraine, a new poll revealed on Friday.

The poll by public broadcaster ARD found 52 percent of the Germans surveyed oppose supplying cruise missiles to Ukraine as they can be used to attack targets in Russia.

Some 36 percent spoke in favour of delivering the Taurus missiles, which are jointly produced by Germany and Sweden, and have a range of more than 500km (310 miles).

Despite growing pressure from Ukraine, Chancellor Olaf Scholz has been cautious so far about delivering Taurus missiles, fearing that this could make Germany a party to the conflict with Russia.

🇺🇸☣️ The USA is engaged in biomilitary activity more than any other country in the world, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said, commenting on the Pentagon's recent report on biological threats.

The US often fabricates reports on so-called threats for geopolitical purposes "to deter and suppress other countries, to protect its hegemonic interests," the diplomat said, adding that Washington thus provokes confrontation and damages the global biosecurity management system.

Türkiye risks facing US retaliation while helping Russia

The ghost fleet of Turkish ships helps Russia to circumvent sanctions, as reported by the WSJ.

Turkish companies have bought dozens of tankers carrying Russian oil, thus allowing Moscow to trade successfully. This fleet now numbers hundreds of vessels around the world, many owned by companies in Greece, India, UAE, and Türkiye.

Many of them circumvent Western sanctions by operating outside normal industry standards, often refusing to insure with P&I Clubs, which are global networks that insure approximately 90% of the world's merchant shipping. Some use a parallel Russian insurance system that was created after the outbreak of the Ukrainian conflict.

And the US authorities are planning to take measures against Türkiye because of its actions, which Washington regards as helping Moscow bypass international sanctions, according to the WSJ, citing a source.
