‼️🇺🇸🇮🇷The United States struck Iranian military facilities after an attack on its destroyers, — CENTCOM.

▪️U.S. forces intercepted Iranian attacks and responded with counterattacks in self-defense as U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyers transited the Strait of Hormuz into the Gulf of Oman on May 7, according to U.S. Central Command.
▪️Iranian forces launched multiple missiles, UAVs, and kamikaze boats as the destroyers USS Truxtun (DDG 103), USS Rafael Peralta (DDG 115), and USS Mason (DDG 87) transited the international sea lane. The American ships were not hit.
▪️U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) eliminated incoming threats and struck Iranian military facilities responsible for attacks on U.S. forces, including missile and drone launch sites; command and control facilities; and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) sites.
▪️CENTCOM does not seek escalation but remains prepared and capable of protecting U.S. forces.
▪️Earlier, the IRGC stated that Iran attacked three U.S. destroyers near the Strait of Hormuz in retaliation for the attack on an Iranian tanker.
