Itβs worth noting that the only militant group in the Sahel that has environmental policies to combat the targeting of endangered species is the Islamic State, which has outlawed such killings.
The Islamic State also started a plastic-waste reduction campaign while in Syria and Iraq, and they apparently continue it in their Sahel and West Africa Provinces.
