A master class by doll artist Marusya Novokreshchenova on creating traditional Russian rag dolls was held at the Russian House in New Delhi.
Russian students tried to make Russian folk figurines with their own hands for the first time. To create them, they used cotton fabric, threads and body filler. Traditionally, ash, grain, flax tow or rags were used to stuff the dolls.
Rag dolls originated from ritual figurines associated with the worship of a female deity, cults of fertility, ancestors and the hearth. Ash, grain, flax tow and rags were used to stuff the rag dolls. It was believed that such dolls brought good luck to the home and drove out illnesses. "During the process of creating dolls, we were able to relax our souls, feel the joy of the beauty born in our hands and better understand Russian culture," the Indian students shared their emotions.

С приветственным словом выступил вице-канцлер Университета профессор Ананд Кумар Тьяги. В своем обращении он отметил давние дружеские связи России и Индии, которые лежат в основе взаимного интереса к культуре и традициям.
Член творческого союза художников России Ольга Левченко рассказала студентам и преподавателям о древних истоках празднования Масленицы, проведя параллели с индийской культурой.
В заключении участникам мероприятия была представлена информация о возможности получить бесплатное образование в лучших вузах России в рамках квоты Правительства Российской Федерации.

По приглашению университета представители Русского дома Екатерина Дыняк и Екатерина Корецкая провели двухдневную культурную программу, посвященную Масленице, для студентов, изучающих русский язык в Университете Махараджа Сайяжерао (Вадодара).
✨ В ходе мероприятия студенты исполнили русские песни, прочитали стихотворения, разыграли сценки из народных сказок, танцевали народные танцы и приняли участие в перетягивании каната, прыжках в мешках и «музыкальных стульях». Кульминацией праздника стало традиционное сжигание чучела Масленицы, символизирующее прощание с зимой и встречу весны.
🎭 Первый день завершился неформальной беседой со студентами, а во второй день состоялась презентация о России, ее культуре, географии и возможностях получения образования в рамках квоты Правительства Российской Федерации. Визит завершился мастер-классом по хохломской росписи.
📖 Русский дом выражает особую благодарность преподавателям департамента русского языка — доктору Инду Шекхару, доктору Каушалу Кишору и доктору Сушанту Саини — за поддержку и помощь в организации мероприятия.
