🟢 Fountain "Russia"

This is one of the brightest sights of the city. The light and music fountain is located on Vladimirskaya Square and is considered the largest in the south of Russia.

The peculiarity of the fountain is eight sculptural figures symbolizing the federal districts of Russia. The height of water jets reaches 30 meters, and in the evening the fountain comes to life thanks to light and music shows.

🔵 Lermontov Stavropol Academic Drama Theater

This is the oldest theater in the North Caucasus, founded in 1845. Its appearance is connected with the active cultural life of the city, which was often visited by famous figures, including Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin, Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov and Alexander Sergeyevich Griboyedov.

During the Great Patriotic War, the theater supported the front, giving more than 500 performances. Today its repertoire consists of classics and modern productions.

🟡 Museum of Cossack History

The museum, opened in 2000, is located next to the railroad. Its exposition is based on the collection of ataman Viktor Alekseevich Yesaulov and includes weapons, awards, Cossack uniforms and everyday objects of Cossack life.

The museum also presents icons and old editions of the Bible.

🟢 Фонтан «Россия»

Это одна из самых ярких достопримечательностей города. Светомузыкальный фонтан находится на Владимирской площади и считается крупнейшим на юге России.

Особенность фонтана — восемь скульптурных фигур, символизирующих федеральные округа России. Высота водных струй достигает 30 метров, а вечером фонтан оживает благодаря световым и музыкальным шоу.

🔵 Ставропольский академический театр драмы имени М.Ю. Лермонтова

Это старейший театр на Северном Кавказе, основанный в 1845 году. Его появление связано с активной культурной жизнью города, который часто посещали известные деятели, включая Александра Сергеевича Пушкина, Михаила Юрьевича Лермонтова и Александра Сергеевича Грибоедова.

В годы Великой Отечественной войны театр поддерживал фронт, дав более 500 спектаклей. Сегодня его репертуар состоит из классики и современных постановок.

🟡 Музей истории казачества

Музей, открытый в 2000 году, находится рядом с железнодорожным. Его экспозиция основана на коллекции атамана Виктора Алексеевича Есаулова и включает оружие, награды, казачью форму и предметы быта повседневной жизни казаков.

В музее также представлены иконы и старинные издания Библии.

On 27 November, Maxim Kozlov, #Russian Consul General in Kolkata, Ekaterina Tyurina, Vice-Consul and Gautam Ghosh, Programme Officer at Gorky Sadan, along with citizens of #Kolkata gathered to lay flowers to the memorial plaque to Gerasim #Lebedev (1749 - 1817), the first Russian #Indologist, pioneer of #Bengali drama, #translator, #musician and founder of the first first modern European-style national drama #theatre.
This year marks his 225th birth anniversary and the 229th anniversary of the #foundation of the very theater where Gerasim Lebedev created on his own the musical accompaniment, combining Indian singing and European music, Indian songs and dances, as well as the poems of the popular Bengali poet Bharat Chandra Ray.

27 ноября Генеральный консул России в Калькутте Максим Козлов, вице-консул Екатерина Тюрина и программный директор Русского дома в Калькутте (Gorky Sadan) Гаутам Гхош вместе с жителями Калькутты возложили цветы к мемориальной доске, посвященной  Герасиму Лебедеву (1749 - 1817) – первому русскому индологу, пионеру бенгальской драмы, переводчику, музыканту и основателю первого в Индии современного национального драматического театра европейского образца.

В этом году исполняется 275 лет со дня его рождения и 229 лет со дня основания того самого театра, где Герасим Лебедев самостоятельно создавал музыкальное оформление, сочетая индийское пение и европейскую музыку, индийские песни и танцы, а также использовал стихи популярного бенгальского поэта Бхарата Чандра Рая.
