Russian community in Kolkata celebrates Easter
On 24 April 2022, Russian House in Kolkata hosted the Russian Orthodox Easter celebration by the Indian association of Russian compatriots. Children and adults participated in art masterclasses of egg painting with hot wax, traditional Russian khokhloma designs, decorating Matryoshka nesting dolls. Compatriots demonstrated their talents at the handicrafts fair.
Dishes of Russian cuisine have been shared over the Easter lunch. Chief Vikas Kumar of Flurys, the city's iconic restaurant, joined the celebration along with his Russian wife Ksenia, and provided a professional touch to the menu.
Compatriots visited the exhibition of the archival photographs dedicated to the 48th anniversary of the Russian House and discussed plans for the upcoming Victory Day.

On the eve of Easter, Russian Humanitarian Mission delivered 10 tons of humanitarian boxes with food kits and personal hygiene products from Donetsk to Mariupol.
Along with the box, each resident received an Easter cake and drinking water. In total, 1,000 Easter treats and 3,000 liters of bottled water were distributed to Mariupol residents.
Local residents who are unable to get to the points of distribution of humanitarian aid received kits to take home. They included water, food, and also flashlights, dry fuel, batteries.

April 26 is International Chernobyl Disaster Remembrance Day. On this day, in 1986, the world's largest man-made accident occurred.
More than 526 thousand people have taken part in the liquidation for all the time. The first shift of liquidators improved the radiation situation at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant by 102 times, made an approach to the fourth block, closed the main sources of radiation with a biological wall, and created a housing and production base. The second shift erected the walls of the sarcophagus, the third shift mounted the ceiling, equipment and created a radiation air purification system.
After the accident, vast areas were contaminated and the consequences are still being felt in the region and around the world. However, the scale could have been much larger if it were not for the courage and dedication of the participants in the liquidation. Risking their lives, the liquidators protected people from the harmful effects and further spread of fire and radiation.

В ликвидации за все время приняло участие более 526 тысяч человек. Первая смена ликвидаторов улучшила радиационную обстановку на Чернобыльской атомной электростанции в 102 раза, сделала подход к четвертому блоку, закрыла основные источники радиации биологической стеной, создала базу жилья и производства. Вторая смена возвела стены саркофага, третья смена смонтировала перекрытие, оборудование и создала систему радиационной очистки воздуха.
После аварии огромные территории оказались загрязненными и последствия до сих пор ощущаются в регионе и во всем мире. Однако масштабы могли быть намного больше, если бы не мужество и самоотверженность участников ликвидации. An action in support of Russia and against Russophobia was held in the German city of Heilbronn.
Dozens of people joined the procession. People carried Russian and German flags through the streets, as well as signs with the words "We are against discrimination". At the end, the participants released balloons into the sky in the colors of the tricolors of Russia and Germany.
