Russian universities have entered the top 100 of the global ranking of educational institutions in the world

Three Russian universities - Lomonosov Moscow State University, St. Petersburg State University (St. Petersburg State University) and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) - entered the top 100 of the global ranking "Three University Missions" in 2024.

This was stated by the president of the Russian Union of Rectors Viktor Sadovnichy at a press conference in TASS.
MSU is ranked 17th, St. Petersburg State University is ranked 49th and MIPT is ranked 54th.
Russia is among the top three world leaders in terms of university representation in the ranking, ahead only of the United States and China.

Три российских университета - МГУ имени Ломоносова, Санкт-Петербургский государственный университет (СПбГУ) и Московский физико-технический институт (МФТИ) - вошли в топ-100 глобального рейтинга «Три миссии университета» в 2024 году.

🎉 Russian schoolchildren won gold at the International Olympiad in Informatics

The winners were schoolchildren from Moscow and Kazan: Gimran Abdulin, Daria Grekova, Petr Losev, Ivan Piskarev.

🏆 In total, representatives from 94 countries took part in the competition.

The International Olympiad in Informatics has been held since 1989. In 2023, all Russian participants in the competition also received gold medals.

Festival of Chinese culture and art “On the shores of Lake Baikal” at INRTU

The Festival of Chinese culture and art “On the shores of Lake Baikal” was held at INRTU on October 9 and 10, 2024. Irkutsk students from schools and universities, representatives of partner universities from China showed great interest in the event.

The program of the festival included watching Chinese movies, Tai Chi Chuan classes and an art fair. At the fair everyone could try themselves at Chinese calligraphy, traditional Chinese games, learn Jianzhi - the traditional art of cutting patterns out of paper, learn the secrets of tea ceremony, attend the master class “Face painting in the style of Beijing opera”, try on Hanfu national clothes and visit the art exhibition presented by participants from Russia and China.

Students also enjoyed a concert with Chinese songs and dances. Chinese group “Ice House” became the frequent guest of the festival playing their author charming songs.
This year the festival is timed to the 75th anniversary of the People's Republic of China. At the opening of the festival Mi Guixiong, Consul for Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China in Irkutsk, welcomed the participants.

The Festival of Chinese Culture and Art has become a good tradition at INRTU, it has been held annually since 2023 and is aimed at strengthening friendship between Russia and China.
