National pavilion of Russia welcomed the visitors of the 46th International Kolkata Book Fair
On 31 January 2023, Mr Alexey M. Idamkin, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Kolkata, has inaugurated the national pavilion of one of the world's largest book fairs. The day before, on 30 of January, the opening ceremony of the 46th International Kolkata Book Fair was attended by Chief Minister of the West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee. Director of the Russian House in Kolkata, Sergey V. Shushin, extended the support in organizing the pavilion.
Russian national pavilion, marked as F11 of the International zone, offers immersion into the wide variety of genres and themes of the Russian literature, introduces Russia's official and popular symbols and will serve as an event ground for sessions on Russian education, culture, literature, cuisine and tourism. Ekaterina V. Lazareva, head of protocol of the Russian Consulate, introduced the pavilion and interacted with its visitors.
The pavilion will remain open on all days of the book fair, until February 12th, 12 to 8 p.m. daily.

31 января 2023 г. генеральный консул Российской Федерации в Калькутте Алексей Михайлович Идамкин торжественно открыл национальный павильон одной из крупнейших в мире книжных ярмарок. Накануне, 30 января, на церемонии открытия 46-й Международной Калькуттской книжной ярмарки присутствовала главный министр штата Западная Бенгалия Мамата Банерджи. Поддержку в организации павильона России оказал директор Русского дома в Калькутте Сергей Владиславович Шушин.
Национальный павильон России, под номером F11 международной зоны предлагает погружение в самые разнообразные жанры и темы русской литературы, знакомит с официальными и неофициальными символами России и станет площадкой для проведения мероприятий, посвященных российскому образованию, культуре, литературе, национальной кухне и туризму. Екатерина Владимировна Лазарева, атташе Генерального консульства России в Калькутте, представила павильон и пообщалась с его посетителями.
Павильон будет открыт все дни работы книжной ярмарки, до 12 февраля включительно, с 12:00 до 20:00.

Residents of the Vsevolozhsky district of the Leningrad region sent a batch of humanitarian aid with a total weight of 5 tons to the DPR. The cargo included warm underclothes, food, medicines, household appliances, handmade items and musical instruments for the Mariupol music school. The aid will be distributed among several cities: Mariupol, Volnovakha, Donetsk, Makeyevka.

Жители Всеволожского района Ленинградской области отправили в ДНР партию гуманитарной помощи общим весом 5 тонн. Груз включил в себя теплое белье, продукты, медикаменты, бытовую технику, предметы ручной работы и музыкальные инструменты для мариупольской музыкальной школы. Помощь будет распределена между несколькими городами: Мариуполь, Волноваха, Донецк, Макеевка.

The Battle of Stalingrad: Everything you wanted to know
In the Fall of 1942, a major battle broke out in Stalingrad, effectively determining the outcome of the entire World War II. Several million soldiers were drawn into fierce, bloody fighting in the streets of the ruined city.
On November 19, unexpectedly for the enemy, the Red Army struck on the weak flanks of the entrenched Friedrich Paulus’ grouping in Stalingrad, surrounded it and then proceeded with its systematic destruction.
Exactly 80 years ago, on February 2, 1943, the last combat-ready German units in Stalingrad surrendered to Soviet forces. This marked the end of the greatest battle of that world conflict.
