The 80th anniversary of the Victory was marked by the Immortal Regiment procession in the heart of Kolkata
As part of a series of events to celebrate the Victory Day, the Immortal Regiment march was held along the street named after the Soviet writer Maxim Gorky, Gorky Terrace.
Maxim Kozlov, Consul General of Russian Federation in Kolkata, took part in the procession with a photograph of his grandfather. Employees of the Consulate General of Russia, compatriots and Indians paid tribute to the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War and home front workers.
The descendants of the Victors set out from the Russian House, accompanied by the Kolkata police. A replica of the Victory Banner and a multi-meter St. George ribbon crowned the procession.

On May 9, the Russian Consulate General in Kolkata held a solemn reception on the occasion of the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. The consular corps of China, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Belarus, Brazil, and Pastor of All Armenians in India attended the celebration at the Russian House in Kolkata.
Among the guests were eminent representatives of local business, social and religious circles, scientific and cultural community, mass media, Russian compatriots.
🇷🇺 🇮🇳 In his welcome address, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Kolkata Maxim Kozlov underscored the sacred significance of the Great Victory for Russia and all the peoples of the former Soviet Union in that horrible war which took the lives of 27 million Soviet people. He especially noted the contribution of Indian soldiers and officers who fought alongside the Allies.
Chairperson of the Regional Coordinating Council of Organizations of Russian Compatriots in Asia and Pacific region Irina Malysheva emphasized the importance of the holiday for the Russian diaspora abroad, which is proven by the worldwide scale of the memorial campaigns, such as "Immortal Regiment", "Songs of Victory" and others. She accentuated that the contribution of the Russian diaspora abroad in preservation of historical memory is being highly valued by Russia.
🎵 The performance of wartime compositions by the Russian compatriots and the Institute of Russian Language students became a bright decoration of the evening.
🎹 The Musicea Art and Culture Council presented guests a variety of Russian music and songs.
🖼 The guests also had the opportunity to watch the screening of the military parade in Moscow, take part in the "St. George's Ribbon" campaign and get acquainted with the Victory Day exhibition of photographs and posters prepared by the Russian House.

This became known at a meeting of the Presidium of the Maritime Collegium under the Government of Russia. The creation of new tourist destinations is associated with the high rate of development of the Asia-Pacific region. Among the promising stages of this route, a visit to the Primorsky Territory, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and the Kuril Islands were highlighted. The expected opening of the direction will take place in 2026.

Russian House in Kolkata celebrated the 185th birth anniversary of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky
On May 15, a gala event dedicated to the 185th birth anniversary of the great Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky was held at the Russian House in Kolkata. The festive program brought together fans of classical music, art and Russian culture.
A photo exhibition dedicated to the life and creative path of Tchaikovsky was organized as part of the evening. The exhibition included rare archival photographs, portraits of the composer, photographs of places associated with his life and work, as well as facts about his famous works.
In his welcoming speech, Director of the Russian House Sergey Shushin noted Tchaikovsky's exclusive place among world composers.
Fragments of the ballet "Swan Lake", one of Tchaikovsky's most famous works, were shown to the audience. The video installation allowed them to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of classical Russian ballet and feel the magic of the composer's music.
The event culminated in a concert where famous works by Tchaikovsky were performed by students of the Musicea Art and Culture Council.
The Russian House in Kolkata continues the tradition of popularizing Russian art abroad and expresses gratitude to all participants and guests for their interest in the work of the great composer.

🇷🇺 Moscow welcomes the first foreign delegates of the "New Generation" 2025 program in Moscow
Young Russianists came to the Russian capital from abroad to participate in the internship program in the field of Russian language "InteRussia"(https://t.iss.one/interussia_programme)
On the first day, foreign specialists got acquainted with the main Moscow attractions.
The city from a bird's eye view was revealed to the participants on the Sparrow Hills. Then they headed to St. Basil's Cathedral on Vasilievsky Spusk, where everyone could take a photo as a souvenir.
🍦 There was also a gastronomic part - in GUM, the guys tried the signature ice cream in a waffle cone.
The excursion continued in Zaryadye. The architecture of the park and its green area, imitating the diversity of Russian nature, made a huge impression on everyone. In the underground museum, the delegates got acquainted with the exhibition "Spring of Victory", where you can see the key events of the Great Patriotic War through the lenses of front-line cameras.
"I really liked the city architecture. While we were riding the bus, I saw places that I would like to visit on my own. I am glad that our acquaintance with the capital was so educational!", - shared his impressions Hossein Asgari from Iran.
Very soon, foreign specialists will meet with their academic supervisors and begin working on projects in the field of Russian studies.

🌐 Russia unites: specialists from all over the world undergo internships in the field of philology and Russian language
In Moscow, in the Noôdome community, the #InteRussia internship program for foreign Russianists has opened. Delegates came from 24 countries: for the first time, representatives from Slovakia, Slovenia and Bulgaria are participating.
💬 Leonid Vadimovich Drachevsky, Executive Director of the A.M. Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Support Fund, noted that everyone who has now come for an internship has the opportunity to become friends and become one family in four weeks: such a phenomenon exists only among Russianists, because everyone speaks the same language.
Dmitry Fotiadis, a teacher of Russian language and culture at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece), advised his colleagues to enjoy every minute in Moscow: take with them the scent of lilacs in the Alexander Garden, the grandeur of the Moscow metro, the decoration of museums and theaters, and most importantly, the experience of all those teachers they will meet.
👉 In addition, the participants were able to see the exhibition "Broken Ring" dedicated to the legendary monument on the shore of Lake Ladoga. Once upon a time, the Road of Life passed here, breaking the ring of the siege of Leningrad. They also learned about the stages of development of the Russian capital from the 12th century to the present day. Historian Olga Gref and director of the Museum of Moscow Anna Trapkova told foreigners about this.

В Москве, в сообществе Noôdome, открылась программа стажировок InteRussia для иностранных русистов. Делегаты приехали из 24 стран: впервые участие принимают представители из Словакии, Словении и Болгарии.
💬 Исполнительный директор Фонда поддержки публичной дипломатии имени А.М. Горчакова Леонид Вадимович Драчевский отметил, что у всех, кто сейчас приехал на стажировку, есть возможность за четыре недели сдружиться и стать одной семьей: такой феномен существует только у русистов, потому что все разговаривают на одном языке.
Преподаватель русского языка и культуры Университета имени Аристотеля в Салониках (Греция) Дмитрий Фотиадис посоветовал коллегам наслаждаться каждой минутой в Москве: увезти с собой запах сирени Александровского сада, величие московского метро, убранство музеев и театров и главное — опыт всех тех преподавателей, с которыми предстоит познакомиться.
👉 Кроме этого, участники смогли увидеть выставку «Разорванное кольцо», посвященную легендарному памятнику на берегу Ладожского озера. Когда-то здесь проходила Дорога жизни, разорвавшая кольцо блокады Ленинграда. Также узнали про этапы развития российской столицы начиная с XII века до наших дней. Об этом иностранцам рассказали историк Ольга Греф и директор Музея Москвы Анна Трапкова.

🌐 Россия объединяет: специалисты со всего мира проходят стажировку в области филологии и русского языка
В Москве, в сообществе Noôdome, открылась программа стажировок InteRussia для иностранных русистов. Делегаты приехали из 24 стран: впервые участие принимают представители из Словакии, Словении и Болгарии.
💬 Исполнительный директор Фонда поддержки публичной дипломатии имени А.М. Горчакова Леонид Вадимович Драчевский отметил, что у всех, кто сейчас приехал на стажировку, есть возможность за четыре недели сдружиться и стать одной семьей: такой феномен существует только у русистов, потому что все разговаривают на одном языке.
Преподаватель русского языка и культуры Университета имени Аристотеля в Салониках (Греция) Дмитрий Фотиадис посоветовал коллегам наслаждаться каждой минутой в Москве: увезти с собой запах сирени Александровского сада, величие московского метро, убранство музеев и театров и главное — опыт всех тех преподавателей, с которыми предстоит познакомиться.
👉 Кроме этого, участники смогли увидеть выставку «Разорванное кольцо», посвященную легендарному памятнику на берегу Ладожского озера. Когда-то здесь проходила Дорога жизни, разорвавшая кольцо блокады Ленинграда. Также узнали про этапы развития российской столицы начиная с XII века до наших дней. Об этом иностранцам рассказали историк Ольга Греф и директор Музея Москвы Анна Трапкова.
