📍Kaliningrad region is the westernmost region of Russia. It is separated from the main territory of the country - in the north and east the region borders with Lithuania, in the south with Poland, and in the west it is washed by the Baltic Sea. 🌊

Kolkata foodies got acquainted with the Russian cuisine
🥞 On 20 January, Russian Consulate General organized an evening of the Russian cuisine. The event took place at the Russian House in Kolkata, where an exhibition of folk crafts and a video presentation of Russia’s tourism potential were also prepared. The Indian Association of Russian Compatriots provided organizational support and a presentation of Russian costume and headdresses, which visitors tried on with pleasure.
Russian pelmeni, salmon blini, pies and salads, as well as the warm atmosphere of the evening were highly appreciated by diplomats, businessmen, students, and Russian compatriots.

🥞 20 января Генеральное консульство России в Калькутте организовало вечер русской кухни. Мероприятие прошло на площадке Русского дома, где также была подготовлена выставка народных промыслов и видеопрезентация туристического потенциала России. Индийская ассоциация российских соотечественников оказала организационную поддержку, презентацию русского костюма и головных уборов, которые с удовольствием примерили посетители.
Русские пельмени, блины с лососем, пирожки и салаты, а также тёплую атмосферу вечера высоко оценили как дипломатические работники, бизнесмены, студенты, так и российские соотечественники.

💬 “Education is the formation of the world outlook, and Russia is precisely integrated into the large global process of struggle to build a picture of the future.”
📣Deputy head of Rossotrudnichestvo Pavel Shevtsov said this on January 18 at a speech to students of leading Russian universities as part of the international exhibition-forum “Russia” at VDNKh, Moscow.
During a lecture on the topic “Why do people go to study in Russia,” he emphasized the special role of Rossotrudnichestvo in promoting Russian humanitarian policy. He also named maintaining interest in Russia abroad, promoting domestic technological potential and facilitating the adaptation of foreign students in our country among the key tasks of the department.
At the same time, Pavel Shevtsov noted that the Agency is the operator of the Russian Government quota. “Educational quotas for foreigners are an instrument of our country’s foreign policy influence,” he added.
✅Among the advantages of studying in Russia, Shevtsov outlined the high quality of education, cultural code and great opportunities for personal growth.

Humanitarian assistance was provided as part of the Russian contribution to the UN World Food Program. Earlier in September 2023, Moscow donated more than 350 tons of sunflower oil enriched with vitamins A and D to the people of the island.
The delivery of humanitarian aid was attended by Russian Ambassador Levan Dzhagaryan, senior officials of Sri Lanka, head of the Russian House in Colombo Maria Popova and senior diplomats of the embassy.

The Russian Ocean Way round-the-world expedition is heading for Phuket 🗺️
Siberian researchers continue along the route: on January 19, travelers completed the transition from Jakarta to the island of Batam. The crew encountered bad weather with squally winds and rain. Along the way, the ship made a stop at the harbor of the Muntok settlement on Bangka Island. There they renewed the fuel in the cans and changed the oil.
And on January 21, the team left Batam and headed to the island of Phuket 🏝️
The project is supported by the Presidential Grants Fund.

Сибирские исследователи следуют дальше по маршруту: 19 января путешественники завершили переход из Джакарты на остров Батам. Экипаж встретила плохая погода со шквалистым ветром и дождем. По пути судно сделало остановку в гавани поселения Мунток на острове Бангка. Там обновили топливо в канистрах и поменяли масло.
А 21 января команда покинула Батам и направилась на остров Пхукет 🏝️
