The International Competition "Leader of People's Diplomacy" has started!
Until September 30, the acceptance of applications for the competition of best practices that contribute to strengthening trust, friendship and cooperation between peoples will last.
Citizens of Russia, Russian compatriots living abroad, foreign citizens - representatives of non-governmental organizations, Internet communities implementing projects in the field of public diplomacy are invited.
The competition accepts materials in various areas: cultural, scientific, digital, sports, tourism, business diplomacy, historical memory, volunteering and others.
🔹From October 1 to October 10, an educational intensive will be held for all participants of the competition in an online format
🔹An online workshop will be held for semi-finalists from October 17 to 31, 2022

On the very edge of Russia, in the Far East, is the Jewish Autonomous Region - the place where one of the most numerous peoples of Russia officially lives.
Since ancient times, Jews were scattered throughout the Russian Empire, and later throughout the USSR. The JAO appeared only in 1928, and initially it was a dense taiga, in which no one had lived before. However, the Jews were able to adapt and by 1960 had made their region the main agrarian center of the Far East.
Jewish culture is based on religious beliefs. The world-famous weekly Shabbat is not just celebrated on Saturday: according to the Bible, God created our planet from Sunday to Friday, and rested on Saturday. With Friday sunset, the Jews stop doing all their business and rest until Sunday dawn.
An important religious holiday is the Jewish New Year. It is celebrated on the last weekend of September, as it was in this month that God finished creating the Earth. The beginning of the holiday is marked by blowing the shofar - a ram's horn, calling all Jews to God's Judgment. An obligatory dish of the Jewish New Year is a pomegranate or an apple with honey, so that next year will be as sweet as this delicacy.

On August 25, Russia's Krasnodar region sent 35 tons of humanitarian cargo to the Kharkiv region. The batch included meat stew, condensed milk, pasta, as well as cement, bitumen, roofing material and primer.
On August 24, the Nizhny Novgorod region sent more than 20 tons of humanitarian aid to residents of Donbass. It included food products: flour, cereals, vegetable oil, various canned food, sugar.
On the same day, another 20 tons of cargo were sent from Syktyvkar: medicines, warm clothes, electrical appliances, backpacks, textbooks in Russian, notebooks and building materials.
Earlier, on August 23, Tula sent a shipment of humanitarian cargo for surgeons of Donbass, which included scalpels, vascular prostheses, special threads.

India will present several films at the Moscow International Film Festival
From August 26 to September 2, 2022 the 44th Moscow International Film Festival will be held. It is one of the oldest film festivals of the world, in 1935 it was held for the first time with Sergey Eisenstein as Chairman of the jury.
This year, as well as 22 years before, Russian filmmaker Nikita Mikhalkov will be the President of the festival and Eugeny Mironov will head the jury.
13 films from different countries entered the main competition, 11 films are in the documentary competition and
18 films in the short film competition.
The festival will also feature an out-of-competition program. If we talk about the number of films and countries, then most of the films will be presented by India and France.

С 26 августа по 2 сентября 2022 года пройдет 44-й Московский международный кинофестиваль. Это один из старейших кинофестивалей мира, в 1935 году он впервые прошел под председательством Сергея Эйзенштейна.
В этом году, как и 22 года подряд, президентом фестиваля станет российский режиссер Никита Михалков, а жюри возглавит Евгений Миронов.
В основной конкурс вошли 13 фильмов из разных стран, в конкурсе документального кино – 11 фильмов и 18 фильмов в номинации короткометражных фильмов.
На фестивале также будет представлена внеконкурсная программа. Если говорить о количестве фильмов и странах, то больше всего фильмов представят Индия и Франция.
