📆 В рамках отмечаемого Дня памяти российских воинов, погибших в Первой мировой войне, 3 августа с.г. Посол России в Бельгии Д.В.Гончар, дипломаты Посольства и сотрудники Русского дома в Брюсселе возложили венки и цветы на центральном кладбище коммуны Иксель г. Брюсселя, где покоятся 13 русских солдат, павших в Первую мировую войну. Их подвиг — неотъемлемая часть нашей общей истории и общей памяти.

Как подчеркнул Д.В.Гончар, «наша страна неуклонно чтит героизм воинов, отдавших жизни за Отечество, в том числе во исполнение союзнического долга. Посольство продолжит уделять особое внимание работе по сохранению исторической памяти».

⚒️Собор был заложен 4 августа 1326 года при Иване Калите. После пожаров и землетрясений в 1475–1479 годах храм был заново возведен и приобрел современный облик. Архитектор Аристотель Фиораванти применил при строительстве ряд инженерных новшеств и привнес элементы Ренессанса.
🏛Сегодня Успенский собор сохраняет статус музея и одновременно является действующим храмом.

⚒️The cathedral was founded on August 4, 1326, during the reign of Ivan Kalita. After fires and earthquakes in 1475-1479, the temple was rebuilt and acquired a modern appearance. Architect Aristotle Fioravanti applied a number of engineering innovations during the construction and introduced Renaissance elements.
🏛Today, the Assumption Cathedral retains the status of a museum and is at the same time an active temple.
