💬 On 21 November 2013, ten years ago, the Maidan protests began in Kiev, leading to a bloody coup d’état that had tragic consequences for Ukraine, as well as for regional and global stability. Remarkably, the overtly nationalistic mass riots that preceded this event were held under the slogans of European values, freedom and democracy.

The Maidan rally was a pretext for creating the conflict. Russia has always tried to resolve it by political means. The West, however, as it turned out, always sought to provoke an escalation.

On 14 January 2014, Jose Manuel Barroso, then President of the European Commission, said:

“It was on the streets of Kiev we have seen Europe at its most popular: a beacon of hope and values, a guarantee of human rights and liberties. Around diplomatic tables, we have seen Europe at its best: united in defending Ukrainian citizens' dignity and opinions; ready to support their sovereign right to decide on their own destiny, and to improve their chances of a better, more prosperous and more democratic future”.

A guarantee of human rights, seriously?

⚠️European leaders said nothing when the Ukrainian government unleashed a real war against the eastern part of its country in 2014. Ukrainian armed forces have been shelling Donbass all these years. An inhumane socio-economic and transport blockade was imposed on its inhabitants, bringing the region to the brink of survival. This destructive line of Kiev was supported by the United States and its NATO allies.

In early 2022, the situation deteriorated sharply. The population of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics faced a real threat of direct physical annihilation by the authorities in Kiev.

❗️Russia had no choice but to recognise the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics on 21 February 2022 and to launch a special military operation on 24 February 2022 to protect Donbass, demilitarise and denazify Ukraine, and eliminate threats to Russian security.

In January and February of 2014, artificially encouraged riots developed into an armed mutiny and ended in an anti-constitutional coup that was rejected by residents of many districts of the country.

The November 2013 events were triggered by the government’s decision to suspend the planned signing of the EU Association Agreement.

☝️I’d like to emphasise that it was only about the suspension of the signing of the agreement, not its cancellation. The problem was that the new commitments Kiev was to assume under the EU Association Agreement were at odds with its obligations to the CIS free trade zone. <...>

💬 В.В.Путин: Гибель тысяч людей, массовое изгнание мирного населения и разразившаяся гуманитарная катастрофа вызывают глубочайшую обеспокоенность.

Все эти события, по сути, являются прямым следствием стремления Соединённых Штатов монополизировать посреднические функции в палестино-израильском урегулировании и блокирования ими деятельности ближневосточного «квартета» международных посредников.

☝️ Из-за саботажа решений ООН, которые чётко предусматривают создание и мирное сосуществование двух независимых и суверенных государств – Израиля и Палестины, – уже не одно поколение палестинцев воспитывается в атмосфере проявляемой к их народу несправедливости, а израильтяне не могут в полной мере гарантировать безопасность своего государства.

Показательно, что все страны БРИКС выступают со схожих позиций в том, что касается необходимости коллективного достижения долгосрочного и устойчивого урегулирования застарелой палестино-израильской проблемы.

👉 Самой актуальной задачей видится достижение по-настоящему долгосрочного и устойчивого перемирия. Важно не допустить втягивания в войну на Ближнем Востоке других государств и какого-либо расширения географии конфликта, а также сохранить хрупкий межконфессиональный мир.

​​‼️في 3 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر، صوتت اللجنة الثالثة للدورة الثامنة والسبعين للجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة على اعتماد مشروع قرار تقترحه روسيا تقليديا بشأن مكافحة تمجيد النازية والنازية الجديدة وغيرها من الممارسات التي تساهم في تصعيد الأشكال المعاصرة للعنصرية والتمييز العنصري وكره الأجانب وما يتصل بذلك من تعصب.

👆هذا ومن المهم أنه من بين أولئك الذين صوتوا ضد مشروع الدول الغربية بقيادة الولايات المتحدة كانوا أيضًا دولًا أعضاء سابقة في ما يسمى ب "المحور"- ألمانيا وإيطاليا واليابان.

🔴إن مثل هذه الخطوة ليست أكثر من محاولة أخرى من جانب "الغرب الجماعي" للطعن في نتائج الحرب العالمية الثانية، المنصوص عليها في ميثاق الأمم المتحدة، ونتائج محاكمات نورمبرغ، وحكم المحكمة العسكرية الدولية للشرق الأقصى.

🔴وفي محاولة لتزييف التاريخ وتبرير جرائم الحرب والجرائم ضد الإنسانية التي ارتكبها النازيون وحلفاؤهم، وكذلك المتعاونون معهم، أظهرت هذه الدول تجديفًا صريحًا على ذكرى ضحايا النازية الألمانية والفاشية الإيطالية واليابانية العسكرية.

🔴وهذا سلوك غير مسؤول يلقي ظلالا من الشك على صدق تصريحاتهم السابقة بشأن إدراكهم لذنبهم في إطلاق العنان للصراع العالمي. كما أن مثل هذه الإجراءات لا تتوافق مع التزامات هذه الدول بأهداف ومبادئ الأمم المتحدة، التي تم افتراضها عند انضمامها إلى المنظمة. أظهر الموقف الذي اتخذته دول المحور بوضوح سابق لأوانه المناقشات والمقترحات المتعلقة باستبعاد اللغة المتعلقة بـ "الدول المعادية" من نص ميثاق الأمم المتحدة.

🔴وستكون نتائج التصويت على هذا القرار حاسمة بالنسبة لنا في بلورة الموقف بشأن دعم ترشيحات الدول التي تسعى إلى انتخاب أعضاء غير دائمين ودائمين في مجلس الأمن التابع للأمم المتحدة، بما في ذلك في إطار المناقشات بشأن توسيع هذا القرار. وهي الهيئة التي تتحمل، وفقا للمادة 24 من ميثاق الأمم المتحدة، "المسؤولية الأساسية عن صون السلم والأمن الدوليين".
