The Russian-Bangladeshi relations have been developing in the spirit of friendship and mutual respect. I reiterate my commitment to constructive joint work at the governmental level to strengthen trade and economic, scientific and technical, cultural and humanitarian interaction. 🇷🇺 22 августа в нашей стране отмечается День Государственного флага, установленный на основании указа Президента России от 20 августа 1994 года «О Дне Государственного флага Российской Федерации».
Сегодня мы отдаём дань уважения официальному государственному символу России, который наряду с гербом и гимном знаменует её суверенитет и независимость, утверждает преемственность многих поколений многонационального народа страны.
История российского триколора насчитывает более трёх столетий. Его создателем считается Пётр I: в 1705 году он издал указ, согласно которому «на торговых всяких судах» должны поднимать бело-сине-красное полотнище. Однако статус официального флаг приобрёл только в 1896 году, накануне коронации Николая II.
⚪️🔵🔴 Официального толкования цветов российского флага нет. Однако принято считать, что белый цвет означает чистоту, независимость и мир, синий – веру, преданность и правосудие, красный – смелость, силу и мужество.
☝️ Сегодня триколор прочно вошёл в нашу жизнь как неотъемлемая часть российской государственности, символ единства народа, его преданности Отечеству, готовности отстаивать национальные интересы.

Event Dedicated to the Celebration of the Day of the National Flag of the Russian Federation
On August 22 2024, a festive event dedicated to State Flag Day of the Russian Federation was organized by the Russian House in Bangladesh in cooperation with the Students and Alumni Association of Bangladesh and Friends of Russia, in Ishwardi.
In his opening speech the director of the Russian House in Dhaka Mr. P. Dvoychenkov said that on August 22, 1991, the tricolor Russian flag was officially raised over the White House in Moscow for the first time, replacing the red banner with a hammer and sickle as the national symbol.
By the Presidential Decree No. 1335 of August 20 1994, 22 August became a national holiday—State Flag Day of the Russian Federation. The tricolor represents freedom, independence, and the continuity of Russia's heritage through generations.
He also reminded the audience that the following Bangladesh’s independence, friendly relations with the Soviet Union were established on January 25, 1972. The Soviet Cultural Center, now the Russian House in Bangladesh was founded in 1974 to strengthen these ties. Since then, Bangladesh and Russia have maintained deep bilateral relations.
After the introductory remarks by the organizers and local officials, the participants watched a documentary biographical film titled "Peter I: The Last Tsar and the First Emperor," directed by Andrei Kravchuk.
The event featured a drawing competition of the Russian state flag, a quiz on the history and geography of Russia, and a concert program with performances of Russian songs. The active participants in the competitions were awarded gifts and commemorative souvenirs. School students expressed interest in pursuing higher education in Russia and participating in similar large-scale joint events.
Over 1,000 students from 40 public schools in the region participated in the celebration. Each participant received a tricolor flag of Russia, symbolizing the festivity.

This is a life-size monument to the 82 destroyed children
This sculpture by Mary Jucitilova was created to commemorate them. On June 10, 1942, SS troops surrounded Lidice; the entire male population over the age of 16 (172 people) was shot. The women of Lidice (172 people) were sent to Ravensbrück concentration camp (60 of them died in the camp). Of the children (105 people), children under the age of one year and children fit for Germanization were left behind.
The rest (82 people) were destroyed in a death camp near Χelmno, 6 more children died. All the buildings in the village were burned and razed to the ground. By the morning of June 11, the village of Lidice was nothing but bare ashes. The children were killed, but their memory will remain in the form of a monument near the village of Lidice. The 82 bronze statues, 40 boys and 42 girls, look at us and remind us of the massacre organized by the Nazis.... This is something to remember...
