I worked at several Universities: academics & scientists never agree on anything. The idea of "scientific consensus" is a myth. There is only mob behaviour in the media & politicians that wants you to believe consensus exists. Professor Ioannidis explains what happens to scientists when they disagree with the media narrative & political narrative, especially during Covid, but the same applies today with relation to the alleged causes of any alleged global warming.

There is no "scientific consensus", there never was a "scientific consensus" and never will be "scientific consensus" about anything and that is a good thing.

Science means disagreement, that is how new theories evolve.

If CO2 was really the cause of warming, how do you explain hippos in the Thames 125,000 years ago?

Hippopotamus fossils have been found in the Thames and its surrounding areas in London. During the Last Interglacial period, approximately 125,000 years ago, when the climate was significantly warmer, hippopotamuses roamed the region, and their bones have been discovered at sites including Trafalgar Square and along the riverbanks.

Hippo teeth (image) and remains were uncovered during 19th-century excavations under Trafalgar Square, confirming that these animals swam in the prehistoric Thames.

Exhibitions such as 'Britain: One Million Years of the Human Story' at the Natural History Museum display hippopotamus fossils pulled from the Thames to illustrate this prehistoric era.

While modern mudlarking frequently uncovers livestock bones (cattle, sheep) from butchery waste, the ancient hippo fossils date back to the Paleolithic Age, distinct from the more recent industrial debris.

"The British Medical Journal (BMJ) has been accused of damaging scientific integrity after retracting a paper which suggested that Covid vaccines may have been to blame for some excess deaths during the pandemic.

In 2024, a group in the Netherlands published a paper in BMJ Public Health, warning that some pandemic deaths may have been caused by the indirect effects of containment measures and vaccination programmes, and calling for further investigation.

The work was peer reviewed for nine months, and accepted as accurate by BMJ Public Health. However, it was retracted this week after a slew of complaints and an investigation by the Princess Máxima Centre in Utrecht, where three of the four authors worked.

The investigation found no evidence of malicious intent, fabrication or falsification of data, but still labelled the work as misleading and selective because it “did not reflect scientific consensus”, and had disproportionately focused on the negative effects of vaccination."

ON THE ABSURDITY OF AN AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF PLANET EARTH

Critics, such as J. Cohler, argue that the concept of Global Mean Surface Temperature (GMST) is physically meaningless because temperature is an intensive property that cannot be averaged across non-equilibrium systems like Earth’s atmosphere and oceans. They contend that because there is no thermodynamic principle dictating how to average these temperatures, the choice of method (e.g., arithmetic vs. geometric mean) is arbitrary, rendering GMST a statistical artifact rather than a valid physical quantity.

From a measurement perspective, calculating GMST is limited by spatial heterogeneity and data gaps. Warming is not uniform; the poles warm faster than the tropics (polar amplification) and land warms faster than the ocean, meaning the global average masks regional extremes.

Furthermore, historical records suffer from coverage gaps, particularly in the Arctic and early periods, requiring interpolation and bias corrections for instrumentation changes (e.g., ship thermometers to satellites) that introduce uncertainty.

Studies indicate that GMST accounts for less than 20% of the variance in local surface air temperature on decadal timescales, as internal variability (such as the El Niño-Southern Oscillation) and regional factors dominate local weather patterns.

However, there is ample evidence that CO2-mitigation measures are as damaging as they are costly.

Climate policy must respect scientific and economic realities There is no climate emergency.

Therefore, there is no cause for panic and alarm. We strongly oppose the harmful and unrealistic net-zero CO2 policy proposed for 2050. If better approaches emerge, and they certainly will, we have ample time to reflect and re-adapt.

Former Senior NIAID Official Pleads Guilty to Charges Connected to Concealing Federal Records During COVID-19 Pandemic

"Greenbelt, Maryland – A former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) employee pled guilty in federal court, today, to a conspiracy charge stemming from a scheme to evade Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and the Federal Records Act in connection with communications about coronavirus research grants.
